Dogs weren't trying to get trade capital out of hunter.

Hogan might be the only example I can think of but even then we were anticipating him wanting to leave anyway.

Point is I can't see Freo pushing out guys like Serong or Treacy to get these deals over the line.

Could also seeing us holding onto Pickett if we're not happy with their offer.

I don't feel like these days stars are traded directly for stars. It's usually good player for some picks, or picks and a fringe player

Or at least not in a direct swap anyway, if they do it's more likely to be done adding in other clubs to the mix

This is why the Warner/Koz talk is yet another example of how s* the modern media is. It's all over media outlets, but how exactly can Freo possibly pull it off without a star player leaving? Maybe a Brayshaw is happy to leave, but i doubt it when the club is on the cusp. They simply don't have the picks to get both over the line. I dare say Koz will stay or maybe WCE throw their hat in the ring if he really wants to head back over there desperately. I'll be shocked if Freo end up nabbing both players. It's like the whole talk of Trac to Pies. Was never going to happen but it was all over media for weeks. Footy media is at an all time low.

Examples? Not talking about good players wanting to leave and clubs being forced to trade them. Can't think of many examples of teams pushing out guns just for trade currency.

None of these examples are of teams pushing out players with significant value to trade others in.

Richmond are the most relevant example but they were hoarding draft picks for a rebuild so it's a bit different. Do you see Freo trading out one of their better players to get these deals done? Who do you think they would trade out?

If you don’t think playing blokes in the 2s all season and putting in no attempt to keep them is not pushing them out then we are on different wave lengths here.

They’re respective clubs were obviously all more interested in the trade compo than they were the players.

Even Essendon tried to flog Sheils off but couldn’t due to lack of interest.

I got asked for example and I gave it in Richmond, not sure how it’s considered “different” because of there reasoning.

You're literally saying every player a club doesn't want anymore was purely because they wanted them for trade capital and not just because they didn't want them anymore

Playing blokes in the twos is not pushing guys out for value to get trades done. In doing so you are tanking their value they are being pushed out because the club wants to get rid of them for their own sake. I think you are misunderstanding my point.

You are solely focused on the part about pushing guys out but I was clearly and specifically asking about doing so for the purpose of getting other trades done. If you don't want to follow that thread then what are we even discussing?

I'm asking about Freo because they are the specific club that are being discussed re a trade for Pickett.
