i hope that qclash is suns home game on sunday night as brisbane had it last year (and it was much success)

Imagine if they started playing a MCG marquee game Sunday night on Labour Day weekend as part of opening round. Such a wasted opportunity. Give everyone a bye in the first 9 weeks spread out following OR.

Any chance they could make the draw more family friendly?

Thursday nights and Sunday nights - imagine if you have kids or live in the country?
Family friendly? Are you new here? They want media friendly.

Better yet, imagine they give the marquee Sunday night game to SA (where it's also a public holiday in the Monday) or wherever instead of another MCG "big Vic" yawnfest.

The Marvel double up seems a pretty good idea honestly. Offer a complimentary GA ticket to the other game with purchases of a ticket to one of the games (/with your membership ticket). Work out what the minimum amount of time needed to clear out the crowd between the two games, have stuff going on in the Docklands precinct in that time. Your North / Bulldogs / Saints row teams should pursue it when playing against travelling teams. I reckon you'd get a few people staying for both and pumping some extra money in to the clubs.

I think it is a double up in the sense the ground is being used twice that day, as opposed to a gather round type one ticket gets you entry to both.

You're no doubt right because the AFL lives to almost have good ideas but not really pull them off

True, though it sort of is into their home markets. I'm assuming the non-Vic teams still get all their games broadcast into their primary home state on FTA, even if Fox exclusive everywhere else.
I wish it was commonplace for all interstate Friday night games. Shows the league is Vic centric with the fact a Vic team will be in every Friday night game
