Yep. Unless they play eachother.Wait, considering those sides rarely played Friday night games, are you saying you get (essentially) at least five games on free to air every round? sometimes six? and at minimum four?
Hawks v crows Friday night in Launceston in Rd14
GC, North Melbourne, I wonder who the 3rd club is not playing on Thursday.
North play Essendon on a Thursday night.
Huge for North Melbourne.North play Essendon on a Thursday night.
Turns out it was West Coast, Sydney and GWS.Gold Coast are playing Thursday night in Darwin so not them either.
So you can pick up both 7 NSW and 7 Queensland? interesting shit. surely there have been times where you've conned the four FTA matches and the four locally televised ones?Yep. Unless they play eachother.
Syd and Brisbane did have a few fri night games but essentialy yes
AFL cant stop tv signals crossing state borders.
Yeh 7 lismore and 7 gold coast. So you can pick up both 7 NSW and 7 Queensland? interesting shit. surely there have been times where you've conned the four FTA matches and the four locally televised ones?
Last time Collingwood was in a dynasty they were drawing 120k at the MCG???When did the MCG suddenly reach 110K?
Does AFL HQ even think it?So another floating fixture after round 15?
Does anyone outside AFL HQ and C7 actually think that this is a good idea?
haven't hosted Crows since 2017.........We play crows away apparently
Incorrect. 2021 home game in Cairns and 2019 home game at Marvelhaven't hosted Crows since 2017.........
I understand not wanting to be stuck with crap prime time games, but they should announce it earlier once the season starts. So another floating fixture after round 15?
Does anyone outside AFL HQ and C7 actually think that this is a good idea?
Hopefully that tide has turned now they have 10 games on the mini oval a year.Geelong to get their annual final round game against a bottom side at home?
League needs to guarantee they’ll get that final percentage boost can’t leave anything to chance
As opposed to getting the bottom side at home at any other point of the year? Did the AFL introduce double points for the final round without anyone realising? Might be time to just admit Geelong broke you rather than carrying on in multiple threads about us. It won't make the 07, 09, 11, or 22 finals series go away.Geelong to get their annual final round game against a bottom side at home?

We have our long break over July August, right in the middle of the floating fixture. for example this year we had games in Sydney, Hobart and Melbourne during this time but I couldn't book flights until the floating fixture locked in and by then I already have family events etc...locked in. I only get to see live games in these few weeks so I want to see as many as I can. If I knew early I could have scheduled to see the GC game which ended up being one of the few games of the year we actually won. Instead I watched us get whooped by Sydney in Sydney. I know I am not the only Australian traveling back to Aus for July/August.If you're flying from Hong Kong to Australia, surely a team playing on Thursday night or Sunday evening is mostly redundant, like you're not going to just come down for a day or two are you?
Floating fixture is good. planning your entire life over a football fixture in 10 months' time is a little bit over the top. if you want a footy trip piss up with your mates then the direct bounce down times are sort of irrelevant – you're going to be in the area for that weekend regardless.
It makes the most important part of the home and away season have the best fixturing. don't get the drama. that period ten years ago where Carlton were getting pumped every Friday night was shithouse.

Getting a Friday night flight, after work, and then finding that the team plays the Thursday or Friday; or flying back on the Sunday and finding the team plays on the Sunday could make a difference. If you're flying from Hong Kong to Australia, surely a team playing on Thursday night or Sunday evening is mostly redundant, like you're not going to just come down for a day or two are you?

Haha good on you mate. You can admit you have get a leg up from the league with the fixturing and soft cap. If you don’t believe me ask any Richmond fan on this board. As opposed to getting the bottom side at home at any other point of the year?
