Yep, my ranks ****ed now, could've fielded Prior/Reid and went Rankine instead i only field Prior and get this ****ing pelican Farrell along with Rozee and JHF being ****ing trash. HOLIDAY OVER

Early days yet mate. You could be like me and have made the bright spark decision to get Liam O'Connell on your bench instead of Reid. Thankfully I started with Bice, but it's early season, longgg way to go yet.

Yeah i know but the right decision was to go Rankine over Farrell, but i planned to get the other next week and his BE was lower so i assumed he would go up more but nope..

You never know. Rankine could get subbed again on a 50 lol, and suddenly Farrell looks like the right option

It's a really weird way to look at it, lol. Best 18 changes how you judge your scoring. Day has a bye too, so what's the difference? It's just moving my trades a week forward, and getting rid of Day?

You're being overly simplistic about this, IMO. It's not a 54 average, because I still have 4 other players who can cover his score. It's whatever they get, not what Merrett gets for 1 round and then doesn't for the next.

Regardless, Round 4 player I don't want to one I do want. It makes sense to me.

We'll leave it there.

I rate it - we are so flush for mid rookies this year that the guy you have "covering" Merrett next week could easily go 80-90 as Moraes did tonight and you barely lose 10-20 points.

If he's the big dog mid you want (and it's a decent shout given half of last year's top 8 mids are currently injured or on a bye) then it makes sense to pull the trigger now and just enjoy for the next 20 weeks.

I've weirdly enjoyed it. Even with my Port -9 bet toast haha. It's been a wild end to end game. Shit skills but watchable.

It was like watching a car crash in slow motion with a couple of drunk drivers at the wheel.
Zach Merrett was trying to fly like an eagle at a turkey farm.

Go with the crowd as the risk of failure is lessened.
VC is for the big punts and the C is for safety I think.

This guy gets it. Exact thought process I had. Can't trust the Freo boys, Naicos on a bye and Green frustrates me each year. All the other decent shouts besides Dunks, all injured. Merrett pumped out a 108 tonight, which could have been much more. No complaints at all on my end.

Really trying to preserve my trades for once, and not just go with what looks good at the moment - but think of the season as a whole. Rank 630 at the start of the round, gives me the flexibility to do that.

You gotta do what you gotta do. It's a frustrating game and "playing it your way" is always the way to go. The result is either wisdom gained or prior wisdom utilised. In the end this game is just for laughs anyway so don't sweat it either way.
SM 's points are equally as valid IMO too as his wisdom is borne out of different circumstance. Side note- I'll be voting for a coalition leaning independent candidate.
