Literally, what have Melbourne and Essendon done to deserve Saturday night prime time?

Like many others have said Saturday night as a prime time slot is behind Thursday, Friday and Saturday twilight now, especially with the lack of free to air Saturday night games moving forward.

I believe "f***ing up the fixture" is a core value at AFL HQ.

Would not shock me at all if we see...Round 1 - Geelong Cats v Western Bulldogs, GMHBA Stadium, Saturday Twilight or Night.

This assumes Essendon play Hawthorn on Friday night in round 1 as has been rumored.

The Collingwood game should get a huge crowd, but that’s only if the their supporters show up because bulldogs supporters typically refuse to go the mcg. There’s generally an embarrassing lack of supporters to mcg games, the first Melbourne final in eight years this year and the first game post the premiership wasn’t even enough to motivate the supporters to turn up.

I initially heard it was an away game, and was ready to vent my spleen! Happy with a home game at the G for the anniversary, irrespective of opponent.

I'll be there, so tv coverage won't affect me. But hopefully Ch 7 will at least slightly focus more on the team celebrating 100 years...
