Top 4 a must.
No excuses.
Time to walk the walk for the Blues …
What about if our fitness, injuries and strength is no different to last season?
Would that be an excuse for not making top 4?
I think those areas are a bit more important, to make top 4, than a perceived favourable draw.

As some have said (and I agree), there is no such thing as a favourable fixture for any team.
Some teams will be better than last year and some worse. Happens every year.

It also matters where and when you play certain teams and in what condition your team is in.

If we had have played Hawks earlier last season I reckon we win comfortably. As it turned out we played them at the end of the year when we were banged up and limping along and they were flying along.

Pretty disappointed with the club here.

No QLD games at the request of the club. Not r even the Suns (second year in a row).

I have until 5pm tomorrow to renew my memberships. Genuinely considering not renewing for the first time since I was 9 as a response. I even had my own membership when I was living overseas.

Russell has been replaced and the permanent rehabers have mostly been moved on.
Every team has their share of injuries through a season.
Barring disastrous luck, there’s no reason now why we should be much different than anyone else on that score.
By every measure, it’s time for Carlton to stand and deliver …

Yes Russell has been replaced (thank God) but the players he "worked" on haven't.
I'm really hoping Innes can put our fitness, strength and injuries under control, but unfortunately that may take a season or 2 to take effect.
Sorry for singling your post, but my point was that I doubt we will make top 4 due to a "favourable" draw.
The draw is a factor, but imo not a reason why a team makes top 4.
I agree wholeheartedly that it is time for us to deliver and I'm quite confident we will, but it won't be as a result of the fixture.

I'm upset as well. Always a good crowd, and huge support in Qld. I'm not happy either as trips to Victoria are difficult at the moment for me...

Went to the Geelong win this year. Have to take 3 of us. Sure we stayed a few days longer than normal but when all was said and done cost us about $3-4k when the primary reason to go was go see Carlton after missing the game here due to Covid.

We also quickly sold out our finals allocation despite the odds of winning being so low.

I am sure someone will have mentioned it (apologies for not trawling through the thread), but for me, the most important aspect of the draw is breaks between games. Because the comp is so even, pretty much any team can win on a given day. So you need to ensure your players are as rested as possible.

The Port Adelaide game (second one) was a killer for us this year. We never should have played last in one round and first in the next.

I am delighted we have zero five day breaks. But I will be keeping a close eye on the part of the fixture which remains to be released.
