I don't think people are understanding the conundrum I described.

Xerri, TDK (Boyd)
Flynn in flex

In this scenario, there is no pivoting from the flex position, unless you are using a trade on one of these four players (or in the unlikely event one gets DPP mid-season).

Are coaches happy to lock themselves into this scenario????

I'm big on a playing R3, cash gen is king.

But the above scenario and lack of flexibility scares the bejesus out of me, which is why I've shifted to Flynn at R2 and no ruckman in the flex position.

Thoughts?
I have the above players, happy to take the risk. I'll trade in a r/f donut for Flynn or Boyd when they max out.

I agree having the DPP would be better but can't ignore the cash those two will make.

Why would you not just play Flynn from R2 instead and mitigate the risk?

But what risk are you reducing by doing that?
If anything i feel like the risk is increased by having a non-player. (*)

As Maybs Tomoz said, the cows are there to roost, they aren't going to be season keepers, so create your flexibility then.

(*) My conundrum of staying a loop notwithstanding...

Flynn at R2 seems riskier to me. I want two premo rucks. Try to not muck around in the ruck spots.

I only see this situation lasting 6-8 weeks. But a playing bottom priced ruck is too good to ignore, even if I have trust issues with Ross Lyin

I wouldn't worry about starting a loop. It's only an issue in round one, as you can use bye players for next 3. After that you're bound to have at least one DNP you can use.

Depending on availabile/must have rooks, I'm a chance at this point to not have any Rd. 2 or 3 bye players...

(Which now i say it out loud, seems like a waste in a best 18 round... 🤔)
Not starting Mills and BSmith would be unique. Reckon we get at least one rookie from GWS.

I’d say you can still pivot from a ruck in your flex because Flynn isn’t a keeper. If he is the best value for money you can find, start him in flex then flip him to a player from any line. Dangerous as an R2.

I think the early rounds Flynn is a great choice for the Flex position if he is No1 ruck at the Eagles.
Should score decent and if he can make $150-$200k it would be great then trade him out to probably a mid/def.
Someone like Flanders would be perfect.

If you pick a flex player with DPP, can the flex players be swapped across lines or are they locked into flex?

Alternatively can you trade your flex and move any player into the flex position?

On SM-G970F using BigFooty.com mobile app
Yes to both questions

I assume you just get the score of your flex and it doesn't actually replace the zero player you are using for the captaincy loophole?
Incorrect.

What happens if my captain is not in my best 22?

If your captain’s doubled score is not in your Best 22 scores for the round, then their points will not count - you simply get your Best 22 scores only. Similarly, if your captain’s doubled score is not in your best 22 scores, you do NOT automatically receive double points from your vice captain - your vice captain only receives double points if your captain does not play for any reason.
