When considering your flex I guess you have to consider who would score the highest when your team is complete

7th best Defender
9th best mid
3rd best ruck
7th best forward

I’m uncertain what strategy I will use.

I guess to start you need as many cows as possible so maybe a rookie sits in the flex position to start.

I dunno.

I think the rookie makes sense. You aren't going to load up one line so much that you need to use the flex for a premo at the start. In fact, you're probably more likely to put a premo there to get greater depth on your lines for rookie roulette over the first few weeks.

Coupled with not being able to back-up the flex position, I think you'd rather start a premo there who is no chance of being subbed or have minimal game time.

Also means if there is a playing rookie priced ruck, you may be able to play them on the ground and still run a two premo ruck strategy.

I'm picking next Friday or Saturday.

Which will be perfect as my holidays start then and the in-laws arrive Sunday so I'll have something to do while I ignore them :moustache:

All the prices won't be known until tomorrow when the game opens, then you're waiting on someone to create one.

Although you can just use the magic number 5386 if you want to know specific prices.

Used to be around Australia Day, I think. Would say some time around then this year, too. Someone else will know.

You're not missing out on too much, tbh, it's basically hit and giggle with that new Flex thing.

Nobody will be stealing a march on anyone given everything depends on how Bailey Smith / J Macrae / Oliver / Cumming /.... and the rookies look closer to the starting line.

So in terms of blokes who copped the rough end of the stick with the special sauce 'discounts', old Dochers and Kiddie Coleman both got shafted,
But understandable, I guess, everyone and their mother would be getting on if they threw them out there priced to output.
(For any of you smart alecs, the 'Magic Number' is just the calculated one; there's only one MN, but looking for the ones that don't track to 5388-odd allows you to see who copped the sunshine boy treatment and who was robbed)

30% discount: Wqyne Milera and Jack Martin have been giving Scoops the look across the bar *all night * rocker_oz33 , Griff Logue, NO'D, Jack Martin, maybe Darcedog Fort a shout if OMac won't be right to go Rd 1 with the busted shoulder

20% discount: Sett- and Regretterfield (see what Scoops did there?), Conway / Reeves probs only if it's clear that professional recruiter Rhycedog Stanley is on the outer / if Meek gets injured. Flynnsanity would be saucy, but he's an open secret (although tbf BJ Williams has improved a lot over the journey, it's no lay down misere). All around top Aussie and bloke of the year Tom Lynch will be in everyone's sides, JohnSinn worth keeping an eye on maybe).
And hiding in plain sight (but very niggle prone of late) is Cam Guthrie. He's actually a special if he starts and strings 6 together, he's a high 90's operator)

10% discount: Mills obvious, Weller maybe (or is he injured again?), DevRob szn maybe, but how many false dawns can you cop? Dan Curtin seems like he'd be one to keep an eye on. Little suss on Lukey Paarker, but he does have DPP.

5% discount: Erasmus is supposed to have a bit of go about him, isn't he? Ultimately falls into the 'if he's got a pulse and he's in team sheets come round 1' category with all the rest.
