Hoping Tauru can be as good as Battle is
Now that Battle plays for the Hawks , the commentators can't stop gushing over him.
Happy with Pou. Couldn’t have had them both.

Seeing how clean Hawks (and gws) move the ball makes me think we are no where near it. Each game I see kills a little bit of hope I have for us over the next 5 years

They've improved so quickly. Remember the end of 2023 we smashed them and looked like we were miles ahead of them. Then in 2024 they flew past us.

To be fair, they spent a lot of our matches gushing over Wilkie. Wouldn't surprise me if Battle was AA squad at minimumthis year
Reckon he gets there this year. At the stage where he just doesn't lose one on one's.
Makes good decisions, and takes intercept marks regularly. Will get plenty of attention at the Hawks.

I am too, but watching McKenzie play well is always a reminder to me of how the AFL is a system rigged against us.

It was sickening to watch Nick Riewoldt sucking up to Josh Battle after the game, he should have called him out fur being a traitor.

You should see what happens when someone is mildly critical… Just coz I potted st kilda recruitment, there were so many “attack the man/ messenger” post in another thread.
I am pretty despondent about the club’s prospects. North/West Coast/Tassie/Gold Coast/Sydney/GWS will get any top picks (due to academies) and all FAs go to big clubs.

They have 20 players in that 22 to 26 year age bracket where massive improvement kicks in.
We have 13 but a lot are really low potential, Clark, Dow, Stocker, Byrnes, Heath, Carroll etc.
Probably only Nas, King, Snags, Sharman, Henry are definite future best 22. O'Connell and Hall possibly.
We are really uneven with lots of old and young but not a lot in the middle. We need a few like Phillipou and Wilson to peak early, Sydney had a massive improvement when a few kids came good earlier than expected.
