Do we have cover at every position?
Tall defender - Leek
Small Defender - Fonti/Wehr
Inside mid -Rowston/Leake
Outside mid - 🤮 Angwin?
Small forward - like 6 guys but Gothard
Tall forward - Riccardi/Gruz
Ruck - 🤮 Madden/Keefe

All in all pretty decent coverage at most spots. If Briggs gets injured I think we are in trouble. That elite outside user that isn't covered by the Kelly/Callaghan combo is also an issue for me. Currently I think it's O'Halloran in that position for me. But I'd love someone who could hit a target. Feels like a position a draftee could grab.

I think ruck should be ok for a short term injury. Keefe played well in win over Brisbane on round 21 or so last year.
I think we might have more forward talent than required, but a deficit in the midfield potentially.

I'd agree with that.
Daniels, Stringer and Greene all great options to rotate through mid mix.
Jones potentially on a wing.

We have a few that could play on a wing. Ward did it last year.
Fonti and Wehr would be well suited.
I think Angwin is better than others do by the sounds of it.
I expect we'll see the clean explosive guys pinch hit in the middle more (Daniels, Stringer, Toby G, Muff) and we'll see Cogs and Kelly spend some and more time on the outside.
We don't see it often but when Cogs plays a bit looser he carves them up. It'll preserve his body a bit as well

I'm also interested to see what Madden can offer. From what I've heard, people within the club are very excited by his development.

Small defender - add in Harry Oliver for the longer term, I reckon he will be a premium player. He's a decent user of the ball, so I wonder if he would also be considered for the outside mid role?

Outside mid - can probably also add Cody Angove, obviously also a longer-term prospect. Otherwise, I agree that we could rotate Darcy Jones through that position.

Ruck - I think Madden is a big chance to show himself this season as a good back-up to Briggsy; probably not ready to play a whole season, but as a fill-in for 1 to 3 games I think he would go OK.

Yeah I don't mind Oliver maybe on a wing but Angove looks too small when we have Angwin/Wehr/Ward there.
Ideally Ward isn't played on the wing. I know he's good everywhere but that's maybe not the spot.
I wouldn't hate Ward in Perryman's lock down defender role but I fear the lack of pace might do him dirty (same for wing)

Yes. Looking forward to seeing what he’s got. The way he’s changed his body shape has been pretty remarkable. He’s very competitive. Plus he kicked a barrel from about 60 after the siren…. Good signs!

Maybe for a couple of games but I haven't seen enough actual rucking from him just yet....in good shape though
In the 6 weeks before he got injured, Madden was Mumford-like (the standard of VFL opponents notwithstanding). Really used his body well and regularly winning taps and a greatly improved tank so he was clunking marks all over the ground.
