He's very much a fringe player whose days are numbered with the likes of Dowling and Taylor coming on.

That's not absolutely true though. Missing Tex, RT and Murray for round one, they are 3 key players in important positions from 2023. Tex and RT went out late in pre season too which definitely impacted on our forward structures early in the season.
Not an excuse, but it was certainly a factor in our poor start.
The guy we’ve given limited midfield time to and just dropped? That’s a clutchSchoenberg as well

We lost to the Gold Coast because we waited until the last qtr to attack, we played so slow.
Geelong we allowed Stewart to run amok after stupidly trying Pedlar on him and then giving up “he’s too good to stop”, until the world beater McEntee showed how it’s done. Plus we played a vanilla midfield Nicks defended.
We lost to Melbourne at home “they are a very good side, we did well to get so close”.
He’s just a flog

Fair, but Tex and RT were two key pillars of our forwardline in 2023 and that changes your structures massively on the eve of round one. One of those two play GC and I think we win, Gollant was absolutely non-existent and Burgess not a heap better. Confidence from a round 1 win can't be underestimated.Murray was recovering from an ACL so we had to adjust (as we did from R 19 last year) as he wasn’t coming back until July this year.
So we had two injuries for Round 1.
Similar to Murray we had time to adjust our structure over summer with RT out.Fair, but Tex and RT were two key pillars of our forwardline in 2023 and that changes your structures massively on the eve of round one. Anyway, not excuses for the entire season, we've had Tex for long enough since then to be in a better position than this.
No mention of the Freo game which I believe has since been written into medical journals as the cure for insomnia.
Rash kicked 3, Ranks 2, Keayes 2... you'd think we won that game...unfortunately that was about it.Fair, but Tex and RT were two key pillars of our forwardline in 2023 and that changes your structures massively on the eve of round one. We’ve lost to the bottom team….
Technically I guess they weren't the bottom team when we lost to them, but regardless we made them look like peak dynasty Richmond. We’ve lost to the bottom team….
When they had plenty of injuries, including Dusty & we were at home. We’ve lost to the bottom team….
Rankine is certainly not the AFL's most popular player. Let's say he decided to walk away from the game. I would fully support his decision. (I know he won't be walking away from the game but just saying). I feel he hasn't gotten fair treatment at times. He was always going to be suspended at least 3 weeks minimum (make it 4) and there is no point in fighting the charge, what difference does it make during this miserable season even if he played the next 4 games. If he starts having issues with getting suspended more often in the future. Wasted talent or is he just hated by some? The bump was unfortunate and Starcevich came off a lot worse for wear. I doubt he (Rankine) would have gotten this bad of a suspension if he played for Collingwood or if he was Daicos, etc. I have my concerns. What happens if we become a better team in a few years time and he gets suspended for a big game late in the season all because of a mistake. We aint Hawthorn or Collingwood, we don't handle things well. I know I sound like a confused mess but I am!
Its fecking annoying that the only other team to do so was Sydney. We’ve lost to the bottom team….
Was it confirmed? Didn’t hear anythingSo keeping with the thread title, we are obviously shit enough that Mark Keane wants out, going on the interview on radio today. So ****ing sick of losing players. I hope we play bloody hardball on this - Collingwood’s pick 26 or he stays.

Mark Keane coy on future at Crows amid reported Collingwood interest
He continues to be linked with the Magpies.www.sen.com.au
“I’m contracted here for next year, but just holding off on stuff until the end of the season,” he said on SEN SA Breakfast.
“We’ll see what happens there.”
Some recent reports have suggested that Keane is open to a Magpies return, however, the Irishman stopped short of dropping any hints regarding what’s next.
“I’m not too sure how that kind of stuff works so I’ll hold off on that and wait until the end of the season,” he added.
“I just want to focus on playing footy, so we’ll just see how that goes.”
Gone.
