He has now spent a long time out of football.
Milera needs a solid hitout of games in the sanfl to prove he can play AFL again.
I'm just treating him as unexpected bonus if he can return to good football.
Need to play him for one game, and then get Carter into the system. He'll be eligible for the 2039 draft.

There are three glaring differences for me…Blight, Rehn, Jarman.

Ok so with trade week done, I've decided to go full out at what my team for round 1 looks like.
I've decided to completely ignore what Nicks is likely to do and pick the team purely as I would pick it.
Here goes:

I just can't see us putting 800k player in the 2s.
Neither can I, but as I stated, I'm picking based on what I would do, not what Nicks will do.
Hopefully Laird proves us all wrong and has a big preseason becoming a top notch small defender / half back player again.
It's not about fitness levels though. He would have to change his habit of giving panic handballs and hospital kicks.
At this stage of his career I can't see him doing either.
In reality, he will get picked. We all know it.
Not talking fitness, more attitude and focussing on those things you mention.
The man can find the ball like few others, so if he did fix those areas, he would be a huge asset.
Sadly I think that ship has well and truly sailed.
Let's say Nicks does a ...Nicks and decides he has to pick Smith, Laird and (gulp) Murphy.
Who comes out of that round 1 side I posted?
Nankervis for Smith?
Taylor for Laird?
Curtin for Murphy?
Horrible. Taylor I could see. Maybe Sholl is on the cusp as well.
Then there is pick 4. Will we play them or make them learn how to play back pocket in the SANFL for 6 months?

I want real craft AND ball pressure inside forward half and Keays and ANB give that whilst Rachele and a hopefully fit Pedlar will give the craft. we have depth on ball to change it up with peatling, Taylor and our pick 4 available.
IF Nicks can get the structures right with his new right hand man, this team has the potential to really go places

Faaaarrkkk..that SANFL side should win every game by 10+ goals
Cumming, ANB and Peatling are going to make a huge difference to how the team plays next year if they can remain injury free. All three are massive upgrades on what we already had on the list.
