He has now spent a long time out of football.I thought Milera was good towards end 2023 and has some class
Need to play him for one game, and then get Carter into the system. He'll be eligible for the 2039 draft. He has now spent a long time out of football.
Milera needs a solid hitout of games in the sanfl to prove he can play AFL again.
I'm just treating him as unexpected bonus if he can return to good football.

Under the radar sneaky very good first season in sanflWe gave up a decent pick for Oscar Ryan. Let's see what he can do.
Even if 1 game as sub...That's a games trigger I can get behind
I just can't see us putting 800k player in the 2s.Ok so with trade week done, I've decided to go full out at what my team for round 1 looks like.
I've decided to completely ignore what Nicks is likely to do and pick the team purely as I would pick it.
Here goes:
FB: Michaelaney Keane Worrell
HB: Dawson Murray Hinge
C: Cumming Crouch Sholl
HF: Walker Thilthorpe Keays
FF: Neale-Bullen Fogarty Rachele
R: O'Brien Soligo Rankine
I: Peatling Curtin Nankervis Taylor
EMG: Dowling Berry Edwards
Smith and Laird play SANFL.
I might have trade period delusion, but that looks a pretty good team.
Neither can I, but as I stated, I'm picking based on what I would do, not what Nicks will do.I just can't see us putting 800k player in the 2s.
Hopefully Laird proves us all wrong and has a big preseason becoming a top notch small defender / half back player again.Neither can I, but as I stated, I'm picking based on what I would do, not what Nicks will do.
It's not about fitness levels though. He would have to change his habit of giving panic handballs and hospital kicks.Hopefully Laird proves us all wrong and has a big preseason becoming a top notch small defender / half back player again.
Not talking fitness, more attitude and focussing on those things you mention. It's not about fitness levels though. He would have to change his habit of giving panic handballs and hospital kicks.
At this stage of his career I can't see him doing either.
In reality, he will get picked. We all know it.
The man can find the ball like few others, so if he did fix those areas, he would be a huge asset. Not talking fitness, more attitude and focussing on those things you mention.
So the glaring differences are not having two more top 10 players in the clubs history on our list?Adelaide Crows 1997 Premiership Side:
B: 44 Peter Caven 35 Rod Jameson 34 Ben Hart
HB: 13 Shane Ellen 15 David Pittman 36 Simon Goodwin
C: 14 Matthew Connell 23 Andrew McLeod 5 Kym Koster
HF: 24 Clay Sampson 10 Matthew Robran 7 Nigel Smart
F: 42 Chad Rintoul 3 Darren Jarman 18 Troy Bond
Foll: 52 Shaun Rehn 28 Kane Johnson 26 Mark Bickley (Capt)
Int: 9 Tyson Edwards 11 Brett James 20 Aaron Keating
Coach: Malcolm Blight
Adelaide Crows 2025 Round 1 Team
B: 20 Matt Hinge 48 Mark Keane 16 Max Michalanney
HB: 24 Josh Worrell 28 Nick Murray 29 Rory Laird
C: 9 Isaac Cumming 23 Izak Rankine 12 Jordan Dawson
HF: 25 Alex Neal-Bullen 7 Riley Thilthorpe 32 Darcy Fogarty
F: 2 Ben Keays 13 Taylor Walker 8 Josh Rachelle
Foll: 43 ROB 5 Matt Crouch 14 Jake Soligo
Int: 6 Dan Curtin 17 James Peatling 27 Luke Nankervis
(Options: Berry, Pick 4, Butts, Bond, Sholl, Milera, Dowling, Taylor, Pedlar, Jones, Ryan, Edwards, Cook)
Coach: Matthew Nicks
Given that we probably didn’t know how good Goodwin, Edwards and Johnson would be in ’97 how do we compare? Thos three could be Curtin, Michalanney and Soligo in 2025.
There are three glaring differences for me…Blight, Rehn, Jarman.
Rankine is wearing Bunji’s number for a reason.
Different era, but, optimistically, we might not be that far away.
Faaaarrkkk..that SANFL side should win every game by 10+ goalsOk so with the current ins plus Welsh and Draper in the draft. Ive also delisted Burgess and Schoenberg and picked up Schoenberg back up in rookie draft. Upgrading Keane
So i have a Senior List of
1 - Jones
2 - Keays
3 - Berry
4 - Murphy
5 - Crouch
6 - Curtin
7 - Thilthorpe
8 - Rachele
9 - Pedlar

I Pick 4 Rooie Draft Gallagher top ups
Cumming, ANB and Peatling are going to make a huge difference to how the team plays next year if they can remain injury free. All three are massive upgrades on what we already had on the list.My best available team for R1 if all fit and healthy
B: Michalanney Keane Worrell
HB: Cumming Murray Hinge
C: Curtin Soligo Sholl
HF: ANB Fogarty Rachele
FF: Keays Thilthorpe Pedlar
1stR: ROB Dawson Rankine
Int: Peatling Taylor Pick 4 mid Nankervis
No talls on the bench because Curtin can drift forward and become the 3rd tall. Worrell helps Keane across the D50 as the 3rd tall in defence.
I want real craft AND ball pressure inside forward half and Keays and ANB give that whilst Rachele and a hopefully fit Pedlar will give the craft. we have depth on ball to change it up with peatling, Taylor and our pick 4 available.
IF Nicks can get the structures right with his new right hand man, this team has the potential to really go places
So the glaring differences are not having two more top 10 players in the clubs history on our list?
And a messiah coach?
Agree, that it's quite glaring.

Nah, Burgess is easy delistable as not AFL standard.Burgess won’t be delisted because he’s critical depth. No way they’re going into a ‘must finals’ season with young Murray as the sole KPF depth.
I'd happily delist him and have him as a SANFL player. We need players of his experience and talent level (SANFL wise) around Turray and the like.Nah, Burgess is easy delistable as not AFL standard.
Would prefer to get games into T Murray or swing his brother or Worrell forward if we have most of our forwards unavailable.
As it is we have Thilthorpe, Fogarty, Walker & Curtin.
