He is prone to hammies. This latest hammy is a re-injury. The more he reinjures them the shorter his career is and he’s on an eight-year contract. Just ease him back into it.

Yep i don't know the rush

He's one of our best and we need him to play out the season

Then don't play him in the WAFL... Give him the extra week off

No point putting him in the WAFL if he isn't ready

The only people rushing him are the people suggesting he play in the WAFL underdone

If he is right to go then it's straight into the AFL otherwise he doesn't play at all because he isn't right to go

Its a hammy, you don't play with a hammy that isn't right

He would only be going there for touch, he doesn't need touch

I agree

My only issue is his match fitness could struggle . he's done very little high intensity training of late

Young is my most exciting player when he is on possession

His centre clearances that result in him kicking goals areva thing of beauty

Playing Darcy at Fremantle with resting as the deepest forward might actually stretch us out with the deep mark staying in the forward fifty. Opposition will probably leave him by himself when the ball is up the other end, choosing to out number us up there. Darcy can sit in the midfield when any set shots at our goal are happening.

Big defensive pressure liability, but not much difference to now. Biggest issue is which tall forward comes out so Darcy can enter the team

Not really, match fitness without overloading him

Even if it’s 100%, the risk of injury is heightened with fatigue, you can manage fatigue levels and relative load on the hamstring with a graduated return

He might be soon...

I suspect his employment agreement has a line that says something about "other tasks as directed by your line manager" as well as something about "redeployment".

Could well be a very well-paid janitor by seasons end.
