Achilles is a 12 month injury unfortunately.
Channel 10 claiming it could be 6-12 months, but the club is awaiting an official time frame, 8 months would just about rule him out completely.

Ah well.
It happens.
Sorry for the poor bloke. :sadv1:

Place him on the LTI list and draft someone tall in the MSD or the SSP.

Oh wait. That'd be forward thinking and pro active. Silly me.
We sign both Lai and Watkins, neither to play AFL but sure make the 2’s bloody strong.

Think Soldo will play Forward, Sweet Ruck.

Look I’m not going to discount a speedy recovery as he is in a professional environment.

But Achilles rupture is not one you want to rush. General advice is no explosive movement for 12 months. I may have experience with this type of injury.

As todd is not particularly explosive. It may not impact him that badly in the long run, and may be a blessing for his concussion issues. But I highly doubt we see him in 2025.

This could be the best thing for Todd. Unless he kicks himself in the head with the moonboot it will mean at least 18 months between head knocks. That should ensure he doesn’t become a McCartin. The brain does better if there is a gap between head knocks.

Bizarrely, Todd is more likely to have a longer career now that he has had this injury than if he didn’t and played Round 1.

This could work out well for Port too. We have cover in his position- Finlayson Lord Soldo Whitlock Ratugolea Walsh Visentini. It has happened so early that we can use the LTI list on Watkins or Lai or to plug the hole in the tall back depth.

Hope the kid sees the silver lining and comes back stronger and fitter.
