I don't 100% disagree with you, and surely Goodwin's gone if that transpires.

However, assuming Petracca, Oliver, May, Lever, Pickett, Gawn, Fritsch, Rivers, Viney, JVR, McVee, Windsor, Langdon and whoever we get at pick 5 all stay relatively injury free, then supporters are entitled to expect better than 17th.
agreed,

i think everything behind the scenes at melbourne will come to a head at the bye and goodwin will get sacked.

Brisbane - Cameron, Lohmann, Rayner, Ah Chee, Bailey
Collingwood - Hill, Elliott, Ginnivan, McCreery
Geelong - Close, Miers, Stengle, Rohan
Melbourne - Fritsch, Pickett, Neal-Bullen

Carlton - Williams, Motlop, Durdin, Fantasia

Finals favours sides with quick, powerful and dynamic small and medium forward options that can withstand the increased speed of finals and force turnovers in the forward half. Carlton winning a premiership with their forward group would be one of the biggest trend bucks we’ve seen. Speed and pressure is king.
I agree with this, but teams have won via different modes and gamestyles over the years. Curnow and Mckay healthy is still as potent as any team has despite our subpar small forwards. A lot of responsibility left on Motlop and Durdin to get better over the off season however.

naah your mob has managed 3 in 60 years !!!

woweeeee

We are an incredible like that because we have also won 3 in 34 years, 2 in 14 years and 1 in 13 months.

Now Carlton on the other hand
0 in 1 year
0 in 2 years
0 in 3 years
0 in 4 years
0 in 5 years

Let’s skip some
0 in 10 years
….
0 in 20 years
……
0 in 25 years
0 in 26 years
0 in 27 years
0 in 28 years
0 in 29 years

Or we could go
0 this decade
0 this century
0 this Millennium

I will try my best to assist by being funny from here on.

May well be a triple brownlow medallist in a couple of years.
Which may not be a great thing for Carlton's premiership chances. They need teammates taking votes off him

Last year I said Carlton will not make the top 4. This year I'll say Carlton will not make the top 8.

They feel like the Western Bulldogs 09-10 to me.
Comparable players in multiple positions.

Lake -> Weitering
Hall -> McKay
Johnson -> Curnow
Boyd -> Cripps
Cooney -> Walsh
Murphy -> Saad

Dogs had a better overall list. Griffen, Akermanis, Giansiracusa, Higgins, Morris, Cross etc.

This Carlton team is not in the same stratosphere as the Dogs team of that era.

The Dogs were unlucky they ran into 3 of the best teams we've seen since the turn of the century in that era - Geelong 2007 to 11, Collingwood 2010/11, St Kilda 2009/10.

Carlton are yet to finish top 4 or contend in a much weaker era (and I say that as a Collingwood supporter whose team won the flag in 2023).
