It's funny that someone like urquhart can have a strange kicking style and because of it be so under rated. I hope the opposite isn't true of Toby Whan

Whan reminds me of Jordan Clark. Looks like a decent runner. Would be a nice addition as a half back flanker.

A little bit loose on his disposal at times though. Seems like the type that gets picked up around pick 20 or so in some of the more recent drafts.

I think in the AFL, you just can't afford to have people missing easy kicks.

There is a reason why players that are good kicks are highly valued by sides.

It will be interesting to see how Bo Allen, Urquhart go.

Bo Allan is no worse kick than Brayshaw and Serong are. It's been massively overstated.

Hope I'm wrong given who drafted him but he's going to be a gun.

As I have said, he reminds me of two players: Connor Blakely and Neale. He is a great runner and covers the field but more importantly finds the ball pretty easily which is why he gets high disposal numbers. How about that cannon of a leg! The one thing I want to see more from him this season is defensive pressure and winning the hard ball, two things I didn't see much of last season. He was getting tagged at the end of this season which is also a good sign.

I'm inclined to agree about the kicking comparison. Only difference is the brothers averaged 25 touches plus in their draft year in competition and the champs and Allan did not, or even close.
Allen has high potential but a lower floor.

I think it's the whole disposal package that makes it worse than Brayshaw and Serong. His kicking is probably at Brayshaw level but his decision making far far below IMO.

Very interested to see where the WC midfield ends up because they have drafted powerful athletes but all bar Reid seem limited in disposal (in some way).

Don’t think disposal is too important under mini. Seems to be going for the chaos ball style.
is that ascertained from watching their training?

also mini as your nickname at this level and age is just embarassing. No wonder they have Worsfold as (secret) director of coaching and jumper handerouterer.

I think McWhopper would be more appropriate now and would get more out of McGovern.

That burst speed he has isn't something many players of his size have and is an absolute weapon for an inside mid if that's what he becomes.

I'm not sure about a low floor but tbf the floor for Brayshaw and Serong wasn't very low to begin with.

He has a tiny head.

Like the goombas from super Mario bros.

A lot of the comments around their training has been on forcing turnovers and going fast, the Richmond style under Hardwick.

More worried about Young than Brayshaw. He will be getting offers of 2 million a year when his next contract is up.
I have 0% worries about Andy and always have.

I totally misread Young when we drafted him, but I think he might be just as loyal and Caleb and Andy on review.

A bunch of them are going to turn down $$$ to stay. Suspect we'll lose one or two at some point, but I don't think its Young.

Andy is a million percent all in. Not worried at all about him but if Young keeps rising that kind of money will be hard to knock back. I'd hate to lose him he is our best mid. Not as prolific a ball winner as Caleb and Andy but so damaging and he's hard as nails.

those 3 got 75 brownlow votes between them this year sharing the midfield even though just 23 and 24. They know they're on to something special at Freo and will make history together.
