Position 2025 Midfielders

Considering going 6 deep in the mids and with a gun mid at flex too. The idea being to downgrade the worst of them to the best rookie available after a couple rounds. If they are all performing, happy days! I just like the prospects of all of them so im going to go for it. My team looks utterly ridiculous apart from the gun rucks, but i actually love it.

Ive thrown out the SC rule book and am relishing doing everything that any reasonable coach would avoid doing. 300k in the bank. No forwards over 400k, a total of ~1.6M spent on 3 rucks with a 260k player on the bench etc. its going to be a fun round or 2 until i rip whats left of my hair out and hover my finger over the 'delete team' button. Heres to having a season ruined practically before it even begins... Cheers

Love the Durham pick, I think he'll break out this year.

Who does everyone think will be the top 8 midfielders? I can afford anyone for my last premo spot but no one stands out. Have Bont, Serong, Steele, Parish and Oliver.

For some reason a player like Butters just doesn’t scream pick me. Currently have Brayshaw in that spot.

Butters right near top, ahead of Brayshaw

Bont
Butters
Flanders
Daicos
Serong
Merrett
Gulden
LDU
I’ve actually been leaning towards starting a Daicos, Gulden or Flanders. Don’t think these guys will be that easy to trade in. Especially with the suns draw to start.

WC
Melb
Adelaide
North
Richmond

Bloody tasty start.

I think Daicos is managing a Plantar Fasciitis complaint.

The only mid that hasn’t left my side since the picker opened is Bont.

Last year I had pretty much had Bont/Steele/Touk/N Martin locked in.

Defenders are similar. I had Daics/Sneeze/Young as definite starters last season.

This year. None so far bar probably Mills.

Back at training today mate, doing a lot of running. According to a few posters on our training reports
More on this, nick trained but only did running and went back inside after about 40 minutes. Didn’t look comfortable, upgrade target later in the season imo

Chads been on my mind.

Epic scoring highs. Epic scoring lows. Would not bat an eyelid if he quit being a Dhead and went 120 in a contract year.

Contract year being the operative term.

Injury and age most likely, do gws phase him out of the midfield a bit and give more opportunities to the younger guys as well

He has a good history of bouncing back from injury. Priced over a 100k unders. Peatling and Perryman are not vying for midfield minutes. GWS forum have him all lined up in the middle. I see positives.

Coming into his 14 season, 31yo, and has only played 3 full seasons in his 13 to date.......hell of a player and I can also see positives, but a lot more on the negative side......so not for me.

Coniglio at 427k

What's the knock on him?
He had both face and shoulder surgery in the off-season, which might hold him back, especially early.

Although if he plays in the preseason match, gets 80%+ CBAs and looks unbothered, I'll certainly consider him.

I think gws are moving on from him.
I don’t disagree with you but who comes in? They’ve shown they like Kelly and Callaghan on the outside. Plus they’ve lost Peatling and Perryman who both had solid stints in there throughout the season. Ward is probably in his last year.

I can see a world where Callaghan splits his time inside and out like Kelly used to back in the day. Can also see Daniels getting more time in there but he’s still very dangerous as a forward so I think that’s capped somewhat.

Outside of that it’s draftees or kids like Rowston right?

Cal Ward breakout SZN :moustache:

I have a fun game for those interested:

Rank the following from best (1) to worst (6):

Rozee
Day
Parish
Oliver
Cerra
Washcroft

Would be cool to get a heap of replies and tally them up.

What's the criteria? To last the year as a keeper? To make a quick $100k then flip? Most likely to shout a round?
