Over the last few weeks I have been working on a mock fixture for the 2025 season. I have got the first half of the season completed but probably won't be able to get the rest done before the full release is expected on Thursday. I will share the first 11-12 rounds on here over the next couple of days.

Some things to keep in mind:
  • 'Super Saturday' exclusivity to Fox for the first 8 rounds. This means non-Victorian sides can only feature on a Saturday three times between Opening Round and Round 8 as that fills their quota of 3x delayed broadcasts on FTA. Because of this hurdle, there might be some rounds with more Sunday games than Saturdays, for example
  • Thursday night football would be a key feature of the fixture from Opening Round until Round 20/21, as reported in the media. The final 3-4 rounds will see an additional game on Saturday or Sunday
  • Start times for Saturday games are slightly later in the first half of the season to account for the fact it is still daylight savings time
Home game allocation changes:
  • Carlton and Essendon each receive an additional home game at the MCG. As a result, Melbourne play two home games at Marvel Stadium, primarily as a result of poor crowd attendances at the MCG
  • North Melbourne take two home games to Western Australia during the latter part of the season, resulting in only two home games at Blundstone Arena in Tasmania
  • Geelong secure a tenth game at GMHBA Stadium, with their one home game at the MCG being Easter Monday against Hawthorn
  • Western Bulldogs host a match at the MCG to celebrate their 100th anniversary in the competition, so St Kilda revert back to having all eleven home games at Marvel Stadium

OR, R1 and R2 coming up first. Let me know your thoughts as the mock fixture is gradually released.
