Its a Rooney rule interview.
Maybe, maybe not.
but if you need a babysitter as a coach you are not going to last long
This is a bit of a simplistic way of looking at it. All younger/first time coaches need to surround themselves with more experienced heads to help them out in their early years. It's not a new thing. Mike Pettine would've helped with this for LeFleur in his first year at the Packers. Leppitsch and Bolton helped Macrae with this at the Pies.

Same why rookies and other young players need vets to teach and guide thenlm

What you suggested was that he acts more like a QB coach and has someone else deal with all the other stuff.

That's a horrible way to coach. You can have favourite players and treat then fair but not equal.

And Shaw's style doesn't fit with anything in Chicago or or Johnsons style.
Johnson will spend more time with Williams because he needs to, he hasn't had a good coach since highschool if ever. If anything he will have a senior assistant who runs the D. But also needs to hire a good OL and WR coach because those rooms also need coaching.

Shaw was once a good coach, but the game passed him. Some of it was because it became harder to recruit even with the small pool of players who would get admitted to stanford and the school against the portal at the time, development fell off and the scheme wasn't working with a poor OL. The way the NFL has moved his style doesn't fit and I think that's why he never took NFL calls until he left stanford.
I think he would work better in the NFL as scout or roster development

Wow you are jumping to a lot of conclusions. I didn't suggest that at all. We spent a #1 pick on Caleb, were terrible on offense and fired our coach. Pretty safe to assume that the highest priority for Johnson would be to improve the QB and offense as a whole. That doesn't mean he's going to neglect everything else, but he will lean toward his area of expertise as every other head coach in the NFL does.

Without divisions you won't play teams twice a year which helps build rivalries. Nfl doesn't want that to go away it wants its cowboys vs eagles twice a year, gb vs vikings, ravens vs steelers etc.

And honestly why would nfl as a league want to expand.
Their isnt the talent for 4 more teams especially at certain positions like qb.
Plus honestly can't see owners wanting to expand and then have to share their tv revenue with 4 more teams. For any expansion would need 24 owner votes out of 32 to expand.

I honestly can’t think of a bigger sh$tshow this side of Johnny Manziel than pairing the clown front office with Neon Deion and his boy

What a glorious 2-15 season that will unfurl

Anyone but Kellen Moore - The Saints making that hiring might be the end of me as an NFL fan.

Kellen Moore - New Orleans Saints Head Coach - I feel ill.
Brady has withdrawn his name.

Its a no win situation for whoever gets it. every young coach should run the other way if they get the call. I couldnt think of a worse job opening ever.

I don't think there has ever been a worse opening than the 2012 Raiders entering that season being 20M over the cap and without their first 3 draft picks due to prior trades. They did have a QB though (Palmer) but they certainly managed to screw that up too.

I’ve heard that The Field is a really innovative up and coming offensive coach. Comes from the college game so could get the most out of Carr.
