IMO, every QB needs the right coach and help around him. Even the all-time greats.

Shedeur will definitely need to be in the right situation to thrive early, but I think long term he will be a pro bowl level QB.
Did you used to be a Richmond fan and go by the name TigerNova?

Because he also had bad takes, like Hayne would be a All Pro RB

Sanders tape and skillset isnt terrible. Its just daddy and the sideshow that comes with it. I dont think he'll reach Jamarcus bust level. Thats nearly impossible to achieve.

He had his old man call out his OL in 23, but last season there was a game where post match he called them out in the media, even tho he personally helped recruit a few of them because Deion refuses to recruit high school and just uses the portal and had Colorado players help him by begging on social media to join the circus.

His tape isnt day 1 tape, he cant read a defense and tries to make throws he isnt good enough to make, but at times gets away with because his guy is 10x better then the DB

I do agree that he isn't top 10 pick nearly any other year, teams always reach for QBs though (and even more likely to do so coming off the rookie QB class we just had) so he probably is a first rounder when you consider other QBs that have been taken in the first round over the years. Always see it in weak QB classes, EJ Manuel, Kenny Pickett etc etc.

If his last name wasnt Sanders he would be a day 3 pick this year and UDFA anyother year.
There will be guys with better tape and willing to learn who dont get drafted like there is every year.
Big name school or a name the media have talked for years gives them the boost over better players at smaller schools.

I agree, he has a high floor, but might have a low ceiling. I've seen him compared to Tua and Teddy Bridgewater. He probably ends up somewhere around those two.

I think the whole situation is exacerbated by the fact that this years QB cohort is putrid.

It's just one of those years where, it sucks to have an early pick and be a QB needy team and the picking are wafer thin.

Sanders is a decent prospect IMO, if he is taken in the 20 - 35 draft pick range.

even in the weak QB class i dont see anything special he does. Its a pick on name not talent. a Tebow/Johnny Football type pick. but they were better college QB's.

There is a reason why he was only a 3 star QB in high school. and the coaching hasnt done much to make him better.

On field he isnt anything special, and off field there are a bunch of red flags. most are family related and without them around the attitude might improve. as a leader i cant rate him after calling out his OL in the press. keep frustrations in house and never air to the media if you want to be a leader. and a few times left games without shaking hands when they lost. Too much Me me me about him.

Rewarding him with a 1st round pick is a disaster waiting to happen, it wont humble him. which is what he needs

Soke QB needy team will do their homework and luck out drafting a future star in like the 3rd or 5th round
Tyler Shough could be that. Footwork isnt bad, throws off his back foot a bit much partly because he can hold it too long or is under pressure early.

Solid back up/future starter for a bad team. Not going to be a star but could start for bad teams if not a long term backup.

All well and good in college but with guys being faster and bigger playing both sides would atleast double the risk of injury. There would be a point were his body would break down like a running back when they reach so many carries.
Plus playing both way would mean his focus would be spilt trying to be the best wr or cb he’d be trying to be both.
If he plays both ways full time I doubt he will last to end of rookie deal.

I dont know what he is best at. not elite at either. his coverage fell off last season, you can put that on him being worn from so many snaps. There is good tape and bad tape at both because of the number of snaps.

12 months ago i would of had him a top 3 corner in the draft, now im not sure because he lost that year of development and fell into some bad pattens just expecting not to be thrown at or trying to play it as a WR.
I dont know where he sits as a WR in the NFL. I know its not a 1 and not a 1st round WR talent, good slot or 2 i could see.

I think someone got in his ear last year and said look at the contracts WR's get vs CB's. and it shifted his focus.

Mentally i dont think he is there to play 80-90 snaps a game combined, but no one is. and his body has had issues playing the snaps at Colorado getting tired.

Bit harsh mate geez.

In fairness to myself, I was talking about what I view his ceiling to be rather than the floor. Never forget that Mitch trubisky was once a pro bowl level qb. You don’t have to be insanely good to make the pro bowl. All pro is a different story and I don’t see that for shedeur.

Pro bowl lol. Fans vote in bad players all the time.

Other then his name nothing he has done in college makes him standout.

People love making players better then they are, Caleb Williams went pick 1 last year even with all the red flags on tape. But at least he had highlights.

Am I the only one in this thread that thinks Shedeur will actually be really good?

It is funny reading the takes saying he only gets talked up because of his name. Because it’s the exact same reason why people dump on him, they want to see him fail just because of who he is.
