Do the Ravens need a safety. because Reid is a FA and KC have no cap room, you always have some guys follow their line coach
We do need a safety actually. The Ravens like to play Hamilton as a joker and move him all over the field but we were forced to move him to FS permanently when our D started the season like shit. So many "experts" think the Ravens will sign a vet FS so they can move Hamilton back.

Not sure we can afford Reid though?

Reid will prob get 3 years mid 30s.

If a team like the Ravens want him and thinks it can get them over the hump then its not hard to find the space. But likely go for someone cheaper like Blackmon from the Colts

in the next week or so teams will start restructures to make more cap room. or get under the cap for the teams currently over

Probably the wrong thread but how do NO plan on getting back under again this season? Just continue kicking the can down the road?
Its the only way they can and wont be clear for another 2-3 years if they decide they finally stop with the silly contracts and just restructure to get out of cap hell.

Isn't that half the problem now though? They're essentially stuck in purgatory having to continually restructure.

Can they really bottom out over the next couple of seasons while trying to move players on? I mean far more than what they've done previously.

While they think they can still win the division and have the same GM I cant see anything changing.

They cant get under without more restructures because most of the big money guys have had restructures so being cut costs more then to keep.

They just keep signing guys to dumb contracts that need to be restructured every other year or keep bring in guys because they think they can win the South.
They need to restructure to get under and do that again next year then let the deals expire in 27 and the reset starts then.

Carr. cap hit $52m, cutting him saves $1.3m and the rest is dead because of restructures.
Cam Jordan costs more to cut then keep
Taysom Hill $17m dead cap, save $200k
everyone else with a cap number over $10m also costs more to cut then keep

and doing post june 1 cuts is pointless for most because you need to restructure/extend now to get under by March 3 so a june 1 cap hit spread over 2 years isnt helping with the $60m they are over today

Its why Moore was dumb to take the job, cap hell. no young stars, shit QB, horrible contracts. and some of the possible good players might be squeezed out because they dont have the cap room to extend when they are off rookie deals if they need a big jump in money.

and they already carry $50m in dead cap from Latimore, Thomas and Winston

Someone on the internet did the math and they can end up with top 5 cap space in just 2-3 years by cutting and trading less than 10 players and replacing them with rookies and cheap vets. It's relatively easy to achieve despite where they are now. But they instead choose to keep kicking the can because they want to remain competitive.

Surely Moore wouldn't sign up for this unless he was given some assurances?

Surely he's demanded 5 years or something to sort the cap and find a QB...

Years dont matter, but getting fired and paid early out always looks worse then anything.

But he is the scapegoat to ride them through cap hell and start to build for the next guy. and the fact they kept Loomis as GM so next HC will also pick his GM in about 3 years when both are gone.

NO should just rip the bandaid off. I applaud them for trying to win every year but their divisional rivals will all go past them this year and nothing would have materially changed in 2026.
