Went down to watch the boys train for a little bit today…

  • Dempsey is everywhere, he gets better every year
  • Lawson took an amazing 1 handed mark which stunned everyone
  • Knevitt has improved out of daylight he is obviously pushing for more game time
  • M. Edwards training with main group and was impressive, great kick and great tank
  • S. Neale off doing side work after main sessions in 1 on 1 contests, the club is putting in heaps of work for him
  • C. O’Sullivan playing 1 on 1 on Neale, and surprisingly won a few times (nothing on Connor, just the size difference surprised me)

Cheers

Thanks, really appreciate the insight.

Smith in the 3 is nice.

No disrespect to keighton but if we could stop giving 31 to the latest of late picks that would be great. The great man should have someone have a long career in his jumper. Ironically enough my wife surprised me with a signed print of the great man today so that's nice.

Separately pleased to see we have retired #26 for a bit I think that's the right call.

Connor still looks slimish so we are obviously putting the weight on slowly so he doesn't break but pleased to hear he's doing well as we really need him to come through.

I think knevitt definitely needs games to see if he's up to it. He could be great like humphries with the right opportunity.

Another few little notes I forgot:

  • T. Conway running laps away from main group for majority of the time I was there.
  • O. Riccardi and another VFL Listed Player I couldn’t name were training with the main group

Nice to see Osca around given the health issues he's had.

Conway running laps isn't a good sign unless he was just on a de loading day. Hopefully no major body issues.

Do you think the 46 will become prized after Blicavs retires?

Isn't that part of the beauty of it? Pods came from nowhere himself.

I think he'd appreciate a youngster overcoming that early scepticism more than anyone, and personally I'd say KMF has the best chance to do it proud out of anyone who's worn it since J-POD.

The one that irks me is Stevie-J's #20. Really miss seeing that jumper every week, let alone someone dominating while wearing it.

Outside of an electric 4 and a half seconds every 6 weeks from Willis, we haven't gotten close in a decade now.

Hopefully Molier can do it proud.

I suspect it's the same as what they're doing with Bruhn. Endurance training is the priority.

That's probably right. I just worry whenever he's pulled out of main training given his history. But he needs to build his endurance massively (like Clark does).

Possibly although some players like to avoid high numbers.

Also separately but the list today means Martin must be getting #19 (I can't imagine he's opted for #43).

Not sure using hypotheticals to justify your case helps your argument. If it does, then why hasn't he mentioned that Brisbane should have been sent home after the second week of the finals? Surely that has more relevance that saying we would have been knocked out in straight sets HAD we lost the first week, which applies to any top 4 club, mind you.

But that's journalism standards for you these days.

I reckon the author has said something similar about us in the past, so doubling down is an interesting policy considering how many have tried and failed dismally when doing likewise.

Jake Michaels is a Carlton supporter who during the 2024 season wrote that Geelong’s win over Carlton in 2024 meant nothing because the Blues won all the major stats

Yes a journalist literally used “it’s a moral victory” for Carlton when they lost to Geelong who at that point were undefeated LOL…the link is attached here

At least the AFL website writers were unbiased LOL
