Feel free to bump if I'm proven wrong. Don't think I will be.
I won't bother either way. Point is that athletes don't train 52 weeks of the year. They need recovery time. One of the running coaches whose training programmes I've looked into says that he prefers his athletes (10k runners) to come into a training block a little above their competing weight. Why would you bother assuming you know what Fisher has been told by our conditioning people?
It just sh!ts me a bit when posters assume players are lazy because they see a photo where they look less than ripped or if they haven't seen them doing extras. I'm a heckin stick figure distance runner and I don't always look that way in photos. And players carry niggles into summer which limit how much training they can do.

/end rant

Well at least it’s fair to say their recovery time should be a lot less than 17 other teams based on their output over the past 3 years.

If anything, they’ll be so cherry ripe to go and dying to get to training. All the recovery jogs they got to do up and down transitioning when they other teams went into attack, while they just dawdled and chased half-arsed, they’ll be so aerobically conditioned it’s not even funny.

Fisher, Stephenson, Scott, Taylor, McDonald, Zuurhar, Corr and Jy’s lack their of lower limb development are all examples of guys that should be so much more physically advanced given their age and experience.

Preach.

I legitimately couldn’t care less about what they post on social media. I’ll care when pre season comes around to see who’s really put in the work in the off season.

I honestly can't believe some of what I'm reading. Young blokes heading away together 6 months before their next game. Big fricken deal.

The first time we played Hawks this year, we were both winless.
It was a must win game for both teams.....

Fast forward to today.
They just beat a strong Bulldogs team in a final.
While our boys are partying it up in Bali drinking Bintangs and posting it, on social media...

And you dont understand how some members are sick of seeing this crap, when their team has been bottom 4, the last 4 seasons?

Personally, I am ****en sick of 3 wins a season. I want to see Cam Z and Paul Curtis doing extra running, because they want to be midfield bulls next year. I want to see Zane in the gym.

I understand they need a break. But I wish I didnt have to see it.

You don't have to see it, ignore the thread lol.

The difference this year is that we went into our last off-season following ac win in the final round, loads of optimism and expectations that we'd turned the corner.

This year we ended with two huge, depressing defeats and a choke at home against the 16th placed team before that.

Lots of criticism and still there's unrealistic expectations, along with the thought that "surely, surely things have to improve NEXT year, don't they?"
Next year is all we have, like every other team that doesn't win the premiership.

But that could be genetic. Not necessarily their fault. Is it really appropriate?

Yes it is completely appropriate. And when you have access to a dietitian and the right training environment, ‘genetics’ won’t even come up. We’re not talking about biceps here.

You can expect a lot more progress from people in a professional environment should they apply themselves.

You can be dissapointed, even angry about the last few years but, you have no right to dictate what someone should or shouldn't be doing in thier downtime.

It doesn't matter if they earn 50k or 500k. They are full time employees, entitled to leave and this is when they have been given it.

If you can't handle seeing that, stop being a creep and stalking thier socials.

Just because you buy a membership doesn't mean you own them.

The social media stuff doesn't mean much. It's hard to know if they've put the work in over their off seasons until round 1.

Last year most of our players took half the season to get match fit. It's pretty clear they just pi$$ farted around in their off season in comparison to other sides. And the youth of the list is no excuse when other young sides like Hawthorn have different body shapes and are clearly fitter.

So what they post on social media or where they go is up to them, but if they're not fit by round 1 for yet another season, supporters have every right to be absolutely filthy.

Appropriate?

Its not even accurate. Jy has legs like tree trucks. Corr does too. Even Sleevo has big thighs. Its the only part of him that has any muscle.

hey ya GIF

Kayne Turner in the leadership group. Real living proof of it. Was beginning to think that was a fever dream
