Youd think LDU, Wardlaw, Sheezel are locks. Parker and Simpkin will get decent mid minutes and rotate forward. McKercher probably the other one.

Only so many points to go round though even if he gets decent mid time. Alot of people will already have Daniel, Xerri, Sheezel and LDU. How many North players do you take?

Also Powell in that mix who’s decent.

As for how many? A few years ago some people had 4+ bulldogs forwards (classic bevo) and did alright.

If you think they win most of their games and all those players are undervalued then why not.

Helmet is locked and loaded if he’s playing HB. Easy points.

Xerri is in contention for one of the ruck spots depending upon how the budget is looking, but you’d think he’ll be a top 3-4 ruck if he continues to dominate as he did last season. Not sure how the oppo can nullify such a competitive behemoth with his tackling, clearance, and follow up work. I fear for TDK if he has to face the Xerri bomb on his lonesome, which makes me think we may protect TDK in-season with Pitto. That makes me tentative in starting TDK (plus they have the same bye). The other who shares the bye at a similar price is Breakfast. Ceiling is huge. Which Timmy will turn up?

Sheezel almost, ALMOST, picks himself.

The maximum number of players/keepers that I’ll generally start/recruit from any one team is 3. That also is largely contingent upon hot streaks and value.

I started Grundy and Heeney last season knowing that both had an early bye, but their overall value they represented was too good to pass up.

Grundy was pretty decent up until round 18 with an average of 113 (threw in a couple of stinkers though) and Heeney hit the mid $600’s by round 4 and was largely unattainable unless you corrected early or blew your structure up to get him.

Generally with rucks I don’t care as much about their personal production.

I just pick rucks with the best midfields because they will be sharked less.

So if you like all of Norths mids then pick Xerri and don’t bother with the mids. (Except Sheezel because he’s been just as good as Nick Daicos 1 year after)

Xerri is an interesting pick, he was so dominate late in the season. Would be a tough Anti-POD if he carries on that form.

But he's also very expensive and if he starts the season slow.....

Quite a few good ruck options - Xerri, Meek, TdK, Roma. Might even start Flynn @ R3.

If Flynn gets a 30% discount he could be a decent shout.

Is 7.5 tackles a game sustainable for a ruckman?

Good question.
I don't have the answer.
Pros he improved through the year and went big in the back half.
Cons
Unsustainable tackle numbers and high frees against.
I'm taking him but I could be convinced either way.

He raised the bat 19 times and scored in the 90’s thrice.

Huge starting price for a reason.

Do you start a cheaper ruck and hope he drops $100k? Or do you just bite the bullet and take him?

The rucks were fairly easy last year as a large percentage went Gawn/Grundy.
This year is far more difficult imo.

Last season the forward line was a tough one, next year it seems as if that’ll be the easiest line to choose.

Probably not. All his stats jumped this year. I'm not sure on him tbh.

What do you think? If not Xerri which rucks do you like?

At a glance I'd say Roma and TDK, especially if there is a viable R3.
Gawn always an option as usual.

Don't love paying top dollar on the back of a breakout year.

Forwards seem easy and pretty cheap so taking a top priced guy or 2 maybe easy. Defence I'm struggling with the most. After sheezal not many auto picks

Roma and Xerri for me.

I've had Roma the last couple of years and he can start slow but always finishes the second half of the season strong and he is a great POD. Priced at 112 but he will go at 120+ next year set and forget enjoy the ride:hearteyes:

Xerri dominated last season after being held back by Goldy and will be priced at 120 avg but he could go 135+ he is the modern Ruckman now and will have No competition in the team with a 2nd ruck lock him in.:padlock:
