I had Coleman in my 1st version but read somewhere he was struggling to be ready for the early rounds.......still think 6 with R3 bye is too many imo...
I've got him at the moment too but have read that he's unlikely to be ready for the start of the season. Still a long way to go before we need to make that decision.

Tbh without changing my structure too much Shoenmaker @ 270k might be the go for me

I think that means one primo out in any given round shouldn’t be a big problem (if playing for overall)

Two primos out in the same round is starting to push your luck

Three primos out in a single round should be avoided at all costs

All this is assuming you have enough playing rookies to bring on the field for each primo that is not playing – if not so much the worse,

Yeah fully depends on rookie roulette. You get a 100+ rookie score that week and your premo may not have counted and you’ve lost nothing.

More Premo’s per round is stacking risk.

In practice over 23 rounds it’s about a 2pt difference per round. The more durable the better. If they only play 10 rounds before getting injured they will need to do 4-5point better then a similarly priced player to be value.

I think a good question to ask for any Opening Round premium your thinking about taking is would I still want them if they were 50k more expensive. For a 2nd player that round say 60-70k. Third would be even more.

If the answer is yes then I think it makes sense to take them.

Could do worse than look at Roberts from the Bombers as well.....cheaper and Rd4 bye

If you’re looking for a cheap Essendon player Tsatas is looking the guy. Plant him in your mids and grab a more expensive defender

Essendon have so many mouths to feed in def (Ridley, Redman, Martin, McGrath) plus Sheil and Merrett have trained there some this season.

Roberts is good but I don’t know that there’s enough points to go around. El Houli as a cheap rookie a better option if you want cheap.

I only just discovered today that the flex exists in AFL SC as well.

Is it compulsory to pick a player? Theoretically, could you leave it blank and top up on premiums elsewhere?
I guess if you need to pick a player, the working version of that would be picking the cheapest rookie.

How's this Flex thingy work ?

Does your flex player have to be on the same line as your 💩 scorer .

I don't know...

I think I did help .

Nope it replaces your worst score from your 22
Best not think of it like a normal loop. You want a quality player there to replace your worst score
It would be a bit crap to have a 40 replace a 25

Maybe.

They have been doing mixed sides so there’s no real idea on depth chart.

Lots of spots up for grabs all over the field.

I’m personally staying away from the defence. Just a too many mouths to feed situation. As for Roberts might not even make the side if they prefer a Mid like Sheil/Merrett there or Saad El Houli the mature age midseason pick (whos worth a close watch)

Even if there are a few players who might play back there worth watching (Reid/hayes/Prior/Elhouli)

Forwards have the classic issue of “don’t pick forwards in bad teams” Kako is cheap and will play so is worth picking.

Nate Caddy might be a good boom/bust midpricer that makes 150k at some point (priced 275) On a better team you’d take the chance but on a bad team too risky for me.

Guys that have a chance to get a bigger role/make money for me

Nick Bryan (300k Ruck) - it’s a 3 player competition between Bryan, Draper and Wright for 2 spots. With a small chance all 3 get a game. Bryan finished last season as no1 ruck with wright VFl.

Tsatas (190k mid) year 3 his body’s finally ready to play mid at afl level. Electric Ball magnet with shaky disposal. His size is a good point of difference and probably gets him picked.

Say Flynn at R2 .
Gawn flex .??

I haven't got a team I think I'll wait ATM.
I'm taking 3 rucks one as flex not set on who yet.
Being able to play 2 set and forget and someone like Flynn as well has some attraction.
Flynn being too expensive for the bench is no longer a factor

Interesting, will keep an eye on him. El-Hawli and Reid options too.

Yeah if Reid’s healthy he’s gonna be a great pick. Likely locked into best 22.

Just hasn’t managed to be healthy much his 4 years in the AFl. I’m a bit wary of him as a donut after last year. And he doesn’t have dpp to mitigate some of the damage.

General advice says pick these guys as it’s 1 trade to trade out rather then 2 (1 in and one out) I’m sure he’ll be in a lot of sides
