i dont think you can take much from photos (angle / lighting etc can play tricks on the eyes) but rayner is looking very trim.

You can keep the football out of politics, but can you keep the politics out of football? I think not.

It's a thread on Big Footy. Every other aspect of the internet has the Musk/US pol talk. Take a breather and let's not derail the thread.
I just spoke my mind; it was just a personal observation.
I was mocked and now I am the villain?
Gee talk about punishing the victim.
Mate, no need to play the victim. McIvor is foolish, absolutely. Getting into it with him is a lose lose situation.
I and many others would simply like to keep US politics that have been literally everywhere this last week out of a football pre-season thread.
You're entitled to make any comment you want, but please don't play the victim. That is not the case and a vast exaggeration of this exchange.
Expecting more coaches to copycat "Fagesball" this season. Fly is structuring his new system on it. Expect we will see glimpses during the Gold Coast meeting. Can't wait. It's a thread on Big Footy. Ahh, but to be implemented only during wet weather games.Lucky we're going all in on Dewball!
How so, by saying a post is being dramatic?Mate, no need to play the victim. McIvor is foolish, absolutely. Getting into it with him is a lose lose situation.

The funny thing about all this is a lot of the way we play is not new. A great deal of it stems from the way Hawthorn won their premierships, even the first of their recent 4. And I mean you can really trace the kick-mark possession game right back to Mark Williams at Port Adelaide, where Clarkson was an assistant coach for a couple of seasons.Expecting more coaches to copycat "Fagesball" this season. So I really don't think it's all particularly revolutionary, it's just that we were able to execute best when it mattered last year.
A saying we have in finance definitely has application in sports: an average plan followed to the letter is better than a brilliant plan followed poorly or not at all.
I think the decision making is important too. How much do you bite off knowing a turnover could be costly? It sounds a bit counterintuitive, but so much of defending well in the modern game is dependent on how you use the ball when you have it.Hardest part about the kick mark game is having players with good enough skill to execute it.

You are correct tho, a terrible decision executed brilliantly generally turns out better than a good decision executed very badly. Even tho a good coach is still going to call out the former.
Just about every plan works if you have really good players unless they have a bad off day.Hardest part about the kick mark game is having players with good enough skill to execute it.
The Lions have a Bluesky account... But they haven't posted on it yet. There is a nice Lions community growing over there and I would encourage anyone on Twitter to check it out.I hate it when these updates are on X, I just refuse to use that Nazi saluting a$$ hats propaganda machine.
