Have no idea, after a quick google the oval is named after the LTUFC club games record holder and 2010 Alumni Award recipient…Was Tony Sheehan involved in our media dept at some stage?
Nek Minnit ... Mason Cox glasses...Was terrible from long range this year but was solid from close up.
Punch in Home of the Matildas and you'll be a stone's throw away I reckon....Motts

Well sounds like we're winning the spoon in 2025... Can't kick, can't handball and can't tackle... I mean seriously people wtf are we talking about here? We were 2nd on the ladder dominating teams with brilliant play for 2/3 of the season, we were the number 1 team for scores post turnover and number 2 for defending turnovers.
We fell in a rut and injuries struck hard but up until then our biggest issue last year was defending stoppage where we leaked like a sieve. It's as if everyone's got a case of selective amnesia.
As for 2025, the list team has made some significant changes over the off season and we should be hopeful that 2025 will see some better fitting young players breaking into the side and provide some of the flare and run we're crying out for. That said we made huge strides last season regarding ball retention and transition ball movement.
I’m of the opinion that this type of work is also the responsibility of the individual to work on outside the training regimeGreat report. Thanks
I only thing I will add is the training is very much like last year. Lots of groups, contested ball and then run but seems to lack some structure or thought?
The question I have, and have had for a couple of seasons now, is we spend bugger all time on skills work. It's very much fed into our drills and not a focus. I wish it was. I have liked how clubs such as Melbourne employed someone like Mark Williams as a development/skills coach. Works on kicking, handballs etc. Old school. I think it's something we really need
Just my take
PS Comment from someone in the know saying a lot more time in the gym this pre season. Strength and explosive work a focus
I agree. If we can get our defense back to the standard we set in 2023 while keeping the fluid ball movement we showed for much of 2024 we should be in a great spot for 2025.We made massive strides in our previously weak areas, problem was we forgot our one wood.
The game plan was tweaked to take advantage of that quite clear obvious number 1 in the comp strength, but we failed to execute on it.
That and injuries, stopped our push. I fully expect us to work on those gains we made on previous weaknesses but have a dead eye focus on regaining our dead ball supremacy.
We get it right, and have a maximum, normal run at injury and I can’t see anything but Top 4 pre finals position

And we were number 1 in the comp in this area in 2023 conceding the least number of points from stoppage. Think a healthy Cerra helps us with this a lotour biggest issue last year was defending stoppage where we leaked like a sieve.

Didn’t Diesel also mentor Dow?Diesel privately mentored Jobe. Need to get him working with Ben C.
Yea I agree if a kids obsessed he will train relentlessly and inspire others to come and train relentlessly with him they should come up with training programs the coaches haven’t even thought of.I’m of the opinion that this type of work is also the responsibility of the individual to work on outside the training regime
Lachie Neal famously does 1000 ground balls a day and is one of the cleanest in the game
N
Don’t give me rubbish about training loads, players have a professional obligation to develop the relevant skills to apply to game situations
Skill development in a preseason training schedule is important but, not the sole space for players to develop
And Zac Merrett and Lachie NealeDidn’t Diesel also mentor Dow?
The Blues will also have their four supplemental selection period train-on players present, with two of those in Matthew Carroll and Sam Durdin both featuring on the list in 2024.
They will be joined by former Hawthorn defender Denver Grainger-Barras and Carlton Reserves Best and Fairest winner Liam McMahon, who are also undergoing pre-season with the Blues over the summer.
Additionally, there are three members of the Club’s Carlton Academy who will feature in their second consecutive Friday session with the senior side, with 17-year-olds Jack Ison, Mingara Clark and Tyson Gresham all integrating with the AFL side and gaining valuable experience ahead of their draft years in 2025.
This. This is what concerns me. End of the season I would have said our two glaring issues on field are our small forwards and our second KPD.Moving well. Fitting in fine. Has zero key defender attributes in my view. We are still a man down there. Young was dreadful today.
