Just Draper for mine. Ashcroft role/opportunity a big worry, can he score well enough playing half forward?

Jagga role too how much mid time will he get?

TBH I'm not even locking in Draper, Nicks is a moron, wouldn't put it past him to park Draper forward, or as sub.
I think Jagga and Achcroft average 80+ even if playing off a HFF.

How many first year players have done that? Can't see it unless they get significant midfield time.

Totally agree look at Harley Reid who is a gun and only averaged 80 and No games as sub.

Walsh, Daicos, Ashcroft, Sheezel ect. Jagga and L.Ashcroft in the same catergory as far as being highly rated under 18 ball magnets.

Playing high half forward you get plenty of opportunitty to win the ball. They might not get heaps of CBAs but they'll be around the ball enough to average 20+ touches. They wont be sitting in a pocket even if they start forward.

Relax mate they aren't going to be getting 20+ possessions as a HHF and average 80 in their first year. Even the best in that position, players like Greene,Papley,Miers,Rayner who get CBA's All averaged under 80 this year.

Im plenty relaxed. Jagga and Ashcroft wont be playing the same roles as those players. They are pretty bad comparisons.

So what roles are you suggesting they will play and what player comparison are you thinking?

I suspect both will be 5th in line for CBAs in their team and get approx 20%-30%. Could grow or shrink throughout the year pending injuries and performance. Aside from that they start at half forward pushing up to the stoppage and occasionally rotate on a wing. That's how I anticipate their roles.

As far as player comparisons, McLuggage, Kelly, Walsh, Macrae, B.Smith, Butters, Crisp are a few that have played that role over the years. Lots of rotating mids do it to various degrees. You start forward and essentially become an extra midfielder after the bounce. Very different to a deep forward role.

Obviously not as lucrative as being a top CBA mid, but with their ball winning ability, they should still be able to get enough to perform well.

From watching Jagga at training, that kent is gonna rack em up whether he's playing forward, mid, back or sitting on the bench. He just finds the pill at will. Will be Walsh/Daicos/Sheezel type scorer in his first year imo.

Not saying he's going to be a superstar in his first year by any means either. He's just a fantasy/supercoach dream from what I've seen, loves a 1-2.

Rookie watch at the Suns with Ben Jepson on trial currently. Played half back for Southport this season averaged 25 disposals 92AF. Could be this year's Clohesy. He's a former school mate of Anderson and Rowell too, which can't hurt.
Agree. He's a watch with Rioli doubtful for OR, but it'll be a tough backline to get into.
Ballard Collins Uwland
Rioli Andrew Noble
then Powell Weller Budarick Jeffrey Jepson

Looking on the Eagles page it looks like Hewitt is virtually a lock for Round 1.
Also big wraps on Harry Barnett who could be a smokey Ruck only $119,900
