Round 2 in Poetry

The rookies from all over came,
With a price so low, they hailed their name,
"Get Tsatas in your squad!" the pundits cried,
FOS is a gun, his price would rise

But when the game kicked off, what did we see?
Davidson, my goodness me!
Few tackles, some kicks, no points to gain—
We were simply left with Rookie pain.

And those premiums, we trusted so,
They burnt our teams, their scores so low
A big score or two seemed all too late—
Our Supercoach hopes met an early fate.

Lachie burnt us and Sanders too,
Will we ever learn? Trade Round 2
Our anger built, our hand was dealt
The only thing to do was melt

But don’t lose hope, it’s still the start,
The season’s long, so don’t lose heart
With trades in hand, we’ll fix our flaws,
Rebuild our teams, rewrite the laws.

For hope’s not gone, it’s just delayed,
A few good picks and we’ll be saved.
The tide will turn, we’ll rise once more
Supercoach dreams? A massive score

The season’s early, but can we see—
Supercoach hopes? A fantasy

Without McKay and Curnow, they're pretty useless. Great top-end talent and spine has resulted is a weaker overall team. Without McKay and Curnow fit and firing, they struggle.

If the Blues can get this lot on the park and in-form, they'll win most of their matches.

Weiters, Silvagni
Crippa, Walsh, Hewett, Cerra, TDK
McKay, Curnow

But the reality is half of them are underdone or injury prone, so it probably won't happen.

That's a fair point in terms of them being underdone / McKay not out there tonight.
Their spine and top level talent are great, maybe that is what sucks me in.
Doc either still blowing out the cobwebs or sadly already cooked, Haynes a shadow of the player he once was.

This is their biggest problem.

Their bottom 6 is awful.

When you've got blokes like Young, Fogarty, Motlop (in and out), Haynes (washed), Cowan etc playing week to week you're in trouble.

Their top 6 is best in the league.

Totally agree ....too many role players

You know if Young and Haynes are in your side, it's going nowhere ....Cerra's disposal & composure was great tonight, but not enough good kicks in the side

Cox would be a halfwit to not keep playing him after what he showed last week.

Agreed. I was extremely impressed with how he played last week. Looked 100% like he belonged at the level - comfortably more than a number of others out there.

If it's the bloke I'm thinking of, he's a top little Aussie.
Used to post AFL 360 snippets with TGO's* best work, and he was a pretty realistic sort of a fell,la, didn't have the blinkers on.

TDK annoying, but over scored last week and unders this week so swings / roundabouts.

Goal overturned, another that hits the post. Then was off for 4-5 mins in the last when a goal was kicked and they make the call to leave him off rather than coming on 1-2 mins earlier than usual and he's stuck on the bench for 10 mins with the game on the line.

Day owners feeling good with a 140 dropping off, 2 x 70s in the system, Bedford next week than a bye

TDK was 43 at Qtr time .....are we to believe the other 3 Qtrs were only worthy of 61 pts ?

Only one FA ....but the stats are saying 47% DE .....gotta say, to the eye, I didn't think it was that bad

There's a bit of luck involved with his scoring, 40 hitouts but not sure how many HTAs, def had a couple sharked. When he gets those in tight hack kicks fwd they can be turnovers / clangers. Def looked gassed late.

That said he looks a very safe C/ VC option most weeks

Sharked taps are -4 I think. Folk tend to over look those.

HTA's can be confusing at times too, I'm sure they miss some. Having said that it can be hard to tell which ruck has actually tapped the ball sometimes, so I'm not surprised mistakes get made.

I'll be flying to Bali tonight, so won't watch my Pies play. From a SC perspective, it's a pretty dead night. Now that TDK VC failed, I can use Stone to look Davidson and Kako. So just Davidson with the E tonight.
