Gawn and English have averaged over 120 previously. Gawn went 124 last year. Strange statement. He was the second best player for the year across all positions.
gawn is at max price and is getting to the age where you would expect a drop off in scoring. starting a 33 year old and expecting them to back it up at that price point is a massive ask.

footscrays gameplan shift with less sharing the ball around hurt english scoring. he doesnt score well from his ruck work and needs disposals and getting involved in general play to get the bulk of his scoring. that fell off significantly last year.

Think English’s points dropped because of the new ruck rules. Don’t think much changed with how we play or used him.

OK .....so till this morning I had Flynn in my Flex position .....and no Phillipou up FWD

I think Pou can surpass the ave anticipated from Flynn

So, Flynn becomes Hodar in my Flex position .....given 3 of his first 5 RUCK match-ups are the easiest in the AFL
Fighting fit, Hodar could reach an 110 ave

And, Phillipou comes into my FWDS

Hodor always gets injured during the year I wouldn't go there.

What happened with Darcy Cameron scoring 18 in round 3 last year? No sub.

His scoring was pretty awesome post bye last year.
I'm considering him this year. Fairly durable, number one ruck and in a good side

The last two years I've burnt way to many trades in the ruck so looking at just going Xerri and Cameron and be done with it (hopefully)

Might then use Gawn as the flex as if he breaks down easy to jump on anyone else (or if money needed Flynn)

He was ill that weak. Spent a heap of time on the bench. Really shouldn't have played.

You can make a good case that it's better to start a riskier player like TdK, rather than trade him in during the season. Only costs you 1 trade to get rid, rather than 2 (1 in, 1 out).

Injury prone players like Day and Cerra probably are the same. You either start them, or don't get them at all (Unless maybe late in the season).
A bit like Yeo last yr, players with a high ceiling but injury prone def more attractive with the extra trades and less need to bye flip this yr with the spread. Very hard to catch the leaders late in the yr now

Yeah exactly. I'm thinking this year I'll start a couple of the riskier players, and then play it safe with trade in's.

I’m just having a look at Darcy Cameron again. I reckon he can go 110+ this year. Has a high ceiling with 8 scores of 120+ last year including 165, 144, 133, 132, 131. Last 7 games last year his lowest score was 92. Low floor with 3 scores under 80 for the whole season (including one which he was injured).

Don’t see anyone taking ruck time off him, think as a 30 year old he’s primed to put up some monster scores.
