It's been added to their compilation Moneyball article - byline all listed as Jay Clark, Jon Ralph, Glenn McFarlane and Josh Barnes.

Given Jay broke the North story the other day it's probably an addition by him.
A literal 5 second google search unearthed a Collingwood article confirming Cameron’s 2026 status and there’s a Hun article from 8 weeks ago confirming the same for Hill. Deliberately fudging details to get engagement is a crock of shit.

From the Hun tonight:

Collingwood star Brayden Maynard would join his brother, Corey, at North Melbourne if he accepts a blockbuster offer to play for the Kangaroos next season.

Maynard, 28, will weigh up a blockbuster offer worth as much as $6 million over six years to move to Arden St as an unrestricted free agent.

And North could also have an added trump card up its sleeve with Maynard’s brother, Corey, working at the club since 2022 as head of wellbeing and player development.
Corey Maynard played two games at Melbourne in 2017-18 and has since become a popular member of the Roos’ off-field team under coach Alastair Clarkson.

North enjoyed a breakthrough win over Melbourne on Sunday and have targeted Maynard for his hardness, leadership, defensive nous and team ethic.

The Kangaroos believe they are on the rise and want to add a Luke Hodge-style defensive general to bolster the back half.
And the club has significant salary cap room to add some more top-line talent in the belief the team is on the rise after years down the bottom of the AFL ladder.

The Kangaroos also have interest in Collingwood champion Scott Pendlebury as an assistant coach when he winds up his brilliant playing career.

Pendlebury’s brother, Ryan, works as an assistant coach in the AFLW program, continuing the family ties.

The connections could bolster the Roos’ bid to land some more premiership experience to the club after missing out on a string of A-Grade recruiting targets over the past decade.

Collingwood has several key players out of contract at season’s end including Norm Smith medallist Bobby Hill, gun ruckman Darcy Cameron and Maynard.

But at least one of the trio could find a new home as a trade or free agency move could secure the Magpies a first-round pick in this year’s draft.

Collingwood has already traded its first-round pick in this year’s draft to land Port Adelaide star defender Dan Houston in last year’s trade period.

The Magpies have interest in star Gold Coast onballer Matt Rowell and West Coast free agent Oscar Allen.

Maynard is a beloved figure at Collingwood but would earn significantly more at North Melbourne on $1 million-a-season instead of $600,000 – $700,000 a year at Collingwood for two or three seasons.

As an unrestricted free agent, Collingwood would not be able to match a big-money offer from North Melbourne for him.
Free agency compensation could secure Collingwood a first-round draft choice pending the terms of the final offer from the Kangaroos.
Offer him $800K+ x 4 years? I think the cap is increasing again
Do we match?
Do we match and force a trade / be happy to keep him if he then rejects North offer?

I might be in the minority, but I don't see it as a huge loss if Maynard was to take the gold mine supposedly being offered.
I certainly don't want him to leave but
we are well stacked with HB talent.
We certainly won't and can't match that sort of coin and rather we paid that money to lure Oscar Allan or JUH as well as luring Rowell.
After all that I hope Maynard snubs the offer and signs for the B&W 4 years at $800k would be a very good deal and about right for Bruzzy to remain a Pie for life..

Finn Callaghan wasn't a regular and Saints were offering a huge deal on potential.

West Coast clearly believes he will be comfortable in Perth.

Let's see how it all plays out.
He played 45 games in 23/24. You’re right he wasn’t just getting regular games he was 100% entrenched in their 22.

700k for Maynard is more then fair considering his performances and age. If he asks for more than that we should let him walk and go after a KPD or mid with the money
Nah $750-800k is fair under the new CBA imo. Puts him a little below Houston, who would be deservedly higher paid given his resume.

Can’t see anyone wanting JUH.

He seems likely to be clubless for a period of time.

Finn Callaghan has been a regular for the past two seasons after injury interrupted his first (shoulder from memory).

He played 45 games in 23/24. You’re right he wasn’t just getting regular games he was 100% entrenched in their 22.

Didnt think he had played that many games in saying that when the huge offer was thrown around everyone thought Saints were crazy.

Its just info i have passed on, believe it or not, I'm not going lose any sleep either way.

I’m not sure I agree in the first instance, as we don’t really have anyone who can replace Maynard’s versatility and dedication.

More importantly, the potential loss of Maynard and Howe within 12 months of each other would be brutal

He definitely won't be at the Pies. He is struggling with the notoriety of playing with the Bulldogs. Imagine him playing for a huge club like us!!
He will play his footy at Brisbane or Sydney next year...

Finn barracked for St Kilda (lived 10 mins from Moorabbin) until he was 12. That was when relative Bevo took over at Dogs and young Finn switched allegiances to the Bulldogs

With Howe in his last year, maybe his second last, eventhough l still feel within my bones he will call it quits after this year, surely we are all chips into Leek Aleer.
He had said he wants more opportunity and with that very strong GWS back six, he ain't getting the opportunities anytime soon.
