Team sheets are here. Linked in the article.
Some kids are 14 (2010 born) and some are 15 (2009 born)

Jeff Farmer's son? Didn't know the Farmer family was living on the Gold Coast these days. So he would be F/S eligible for Melbourne, Freo and academy eligible for the Suns?

The Wiz lives in or around Carrum nowadays.

Good games.

Eli Kravic was quite good with 3 goals, could have been 4. How is his kid only 15. He's big and strong. Moves well, pressure is good. Moves up the ground, and in the ruck. Also plays at FF. Good contested mark on him.
Brancatisano good runner, as we know he is an elite athlete. Kicked a good goal from 50.
Jiang looks like a good small mid, wearing the helmet too.
DeValle was playing on the wing I think, looked okay for a 14 year old.

Nice summary Jen.

On a side note - Luke is a Jan baby - he's actually almost 16...one of the oldest in this year group.

Luke moves well from what I see. You're right, he's definitely 15 not 14 and born in January. It's Jiang that's 14 (born in 2010) But looks to be a winger, but also played at centre bounce.
Jiang and Cooper also played midfield as well. I plan on putting together some footage of them sometime today. But I've gathered this for Eli, who really stands out with his size.

How's this kid 15?
Once he gets to CTL next year, he'll be a key forward for sure.

In regards to Cooper. That kid has pace, you wouldn't want to give him a yard of space out there. Can run 100m in 11 seconds going by his athletic awards.

Not connected to the pies, but I liked the look of Lual. Moves really well off half back with his athleticism.

Brancatisano, Jiang, De Valle

Does anyone know if every kid who plays in this game belongs to an AFL clubs NGA?
In the Boomerangs v The World game?
Not everyone, there are a few split between the sides. But would be plenty not linked I think.
Pies did have 5 NGA in the World Team

But the Kickstart v All Nations game was definitely NGA prospects

So who are the standouts to look out for in this draft class? I found the All-Australian team from this year, but I have no idea which ones are considered the best prospects.

Great that Abbonizio made it to the WA state 18's squad despite injury and not even playing in the 15's. Incredible!

Both Taj Murray and Kodi Wallace have been named in the Suns' U16 & U18 squads for next season. That likely means they'll both get the opportunity to play in the Coates Talent League against some of the best 18yos in the country next year. Should fast track their development and better prepare them for what's to come.

Do we expect to see any other players from the 2027 draft class playing in the CTL next season? Surely Salopek and/or Rodan are potentially in line.

Yeah would love for Salopek and Rodan to get a crack at it. Also would love for them to choose to come Port when their draft comes haha

Is that in question? I know they've been tinkering with the F/S + Academy bidding rules lately, but David Rodan and Steven Salopek both played over 100 AFL games for Port and less/none for other clubs. So it's a pretty safe bet that they both end up at Alberton, no?

Both are highly rated at the moment so it'll probably be the same situation we saw with Brisbane in 2022 when they matched a bid on F/S pick Will Ashcroft at pick 2 and matched another bid on F/S pick Jaspa Fletcher at pick 12. Unlike the northern academies where they can only match one first round bid should the team make a prelim, there is currently no restriction on the amount of F/S bids you can match. So unless that changes, Salopek and Rodan should both head to Alberton in 2027.

Salopek is ours if he chooses to.
Rodan is an Essendon NGA aswell as F/S for us

Why wouldn't Salopek choose Port? The only player I can think of that chose the open draft instead of his father-son/academy option was Marc Murphy and that was probably more to do with his father John being a Fitzroy player, not a Brisbane player. Virtually every player that is highly rated and has a father-son option ends up doing it.

If Rodan is NGA eligible for Essendon then that could be a problem. I know the Bombers convinced Chris Johnson's son to choose them over his F/S option with Brisbane. If they're not already, Port should be trying to strengthen ties to the Rodan family. Pretty sure David Rodan has several sons coming through so this isn't just about Tevita.

Dunkley nominated as FS but think he asked Swans not to match if Vic team bid.

Is Salopek based in Vic?

Are you sure? That's not how it was reported at the time...

"Andrew Dunkley played 217 games for the Swans and so Josh was eligible as a father-son selection for Sydney, but at the time they were not convinced of the need for the big-bodied midfielder given the others they had there. And they had doubts on his kicking."

For context, Sydney used most of their picks in that draft to match a pick 3 bid for Callum Mills. Dunkley was bid on with pick 25 and the Swans' next best pick after that was 51 after matching the bid on Mills. I think future pick trading also hadn't been introduced yet or was in its infancy and people weren't really aware of how to use it best to their advantage. So you had multiple factors playing against the Swans in that moment which probably deterred them from drafting Dunkley.

Is Salopek based in Vic?
Looks like it. He played for Vic in the national championships this year.
