Is this some sought of a joke?

"Keystone agony said"

Yeah, it's a joke. At least it's better for your view of humanity if you treat it as a joke and pretend no one is that stupid.

Heppell is easily the most consistent youngster in the competition because he hasn't experienced any lows and hasn't scaled a Bennell type height but is regarded as the best young player by the coaches and came second in our BnF (I think are pretty good objective indications of his consistency).

Don't get sucked into the ill-considered drivel that was doing the rounds before Heppell received his accolades. Year 2 was even better and there is a hell of a lot of improvement (especially physical) left for Heppell.

Problem for Heppell was he was already being judged at ridiculously high standards due to his amazing first year. It is like people saying Buddy was just ok when he kicks 4 goals, yet Roughead does it and he had a super game. We expect and demand more from Heppell than any other kid, that is why many saw this year as just ok.

I also heard he was struglling to run due to blisters or something. He certainly lost a yeard of pace the second half of this year.

Brad Sewell or Scott Pendlebury?
See I don't see a heap of Sewell in Conca's game at all. Really really under-rates Conca's pace & kicking IMHO, and somewhat over-states his inside & defensive game. Sewell would crunch Conca inside and Conca would torch him outside.
IMHO he's just a good all-rounder. Sort of Goodwin-ish, if anything.

But then again, I never got the 'Melksham = Hayes' comparison that was de riguer around here this time last year either. Guess that's just me.

He has a similar loping gait. That is about as far as it went for me.

Heppel is slightly overrated on here by bombers supporters... He is going along nicely - but i think he has alot of areas of improvement , which is a good thing - Have seen conca play some good footy.. heppel well ahead of conco just like watson is miles ahead of cotchin.
SImple!

Compare stats:

Heppell: A lot more kicks, handballs, marks and UP per game, shading Conca in I50's, Goal Assists, CP, rebound 50's, bounces, Contested marks and 1%'s.

Conca: shades Heppell in tackles, DE% and clearances.

Hepp has Conca covered quite easily right now. Cotchin and Watson are far closer together.

You forgot

Heppell -2nd in BnF

Conca - Outside top 11.

Yup they are tacking similarly.

To be fair, Richmond has a better list than us.
Especially the final 7-8 in their best 22.

The interesting thing about Heppell this year was it was a clear development year in the second half as he played much more game time in the middle. And the pleasing thing was he steadily improved. I think if anything, he panicked too much in the middle thinking he had to be quicker than he did. As he became accustomed to the speed in the middle, his output lifted.

I look fwd to him developing into a version of Pendlebury (not likley better, but let's hope so).

Yep. He was one of the real positives for us this year. Yes he made some errors in the middle but so did the Brownlow medalist. I think his second year was better than his first and his potential to reach top 5 in the comp is there.

One touch, time with the ball, clean disposal, good over head, versatile... I wouldn't trade him for anyone.

Exactly.
Had a down patch, when he first went in there, then picked up markedly and played some very good footy in challenging roles.

Richmond wouldn't know talent if it bludgeoned them over the head

Oh really? I was complimented by the fact their recruiters were contacting me constantly.

I have a very different interpretation of their strengths.

Elite top end talent propping up a list that hardly bats below 15 or 16 at this stage.
