I'm not in any way qualified to make this post but I don't think muscle spasms are that serious unless they are a symptom of some other underlying injury. It could just be that he's been overtraining or something.
I treat back issues in my clinic all the time. To be honest i'm a bit worried about him... It could definitely be minor like they are saying, but back issues are frequently not straight forward to recover from. I'd rather he'd strained a leg muscle or something, that's for sure.

It depends on if it is nerve related spasm or if it is just muscle related. If it is just muscle tension then it will pass relatively quickly, if it is nerve related which is causing the muscle to spasm then it is usually more complex. I have nerve related issue in my back and in my case there is no easy fix for it.

I hope it is nothing serious, I wouldn't wish the back pain issues on my worst enemies.

What's your profession?
Massage therapist. Believe it or not, i know probably know as much as most Physios etc on the subject.
Worst case scenario in terms of back spasms is someone like Michael Clarke.

Let's hope it's nothing like that.
Worst case scenario is more like Gumby :(
But that's a mountain out of a mole hill at this point in time
