He’d be another one who would be questioning why he isn’t getting a game despite good form I suspect. Time to give the kids a taste.

It will be an interesting week for a few reasons.

  • Does Heppell finally realise that its over and call time
  • If so, doe he step aside to allow someone like Hayes to have the an opportunity or does he inist on playing despite not playing any VFL to earn his spot back.
  • If Heppell does want to play, does the club indulge this and the message it sends around selection integrity.

Give him a taste and see how he goes. If he goes well, great. If not, he gets to see for himself where he’s at and where he needs to get to.

Our season is done and probably a few who need surgery so book them in and can play both hepp and hayes.

Cox, laverde for hayes and heppel

He shouldn't play on next year bit deserves a fair well game and more respect than the abuse on this board that he is currently getting

Not really much to debate - will be 100% option 3 without a doubt

To be honest, if he just announced a decision one way or another, it would make things much easier.

Would alleviate the concerns about not playing VFL, whether he is wanting to play on etc.
Just to give him an out,
It is possible he was/is holding off announcing anything because the team were playing for their season and it would be a distraction.

you don’t think a “Do it for Doise” would inspire the boys?

He deserves a farewell game against Sydney next week.
ant555 is right.
Dyson is highly respected by everyone in the footy club.
He is not the only player who thinks he has more to offer than he does.
It would be the essendon thing to do to win next week in his last game.

No the most Essendon thing to do would be to win in his 'farewell' game and then backtrack and offer him two years.
