Re: 21. Hayden Skipworth

Wasn't fussed either way when we picked him up, but he is proving very handy.

One time when jetta was getting harassed, he came in shut the carlton bloke up, pushed him away, and keep jetta calm. He was also involved in the scuffle with thornton and co, and was doing a great job keep the scum fired up, but making sure the bombers players weren't doing anything stupid.

Re: 21. Hayden Skipworth

Sorry, just gonna admit this is a dreamteam question. Reckon Skippy will be back this week or spend a week or two at Bendigo?

1-2 at Bendigo IMO, even still will have to perform well to force his way back in the side.

Re: 21. Hayden Skipworth

Yeah, if you have Hayden in your DT, it's an interesting strategy to have kept him this long.

Firstly, IF he is passed fit this week, he will play for Bendigo.

Assuming he plays well in that match, he is still hardly a walk up start for Essendon AND Prismall is on track to debut for the Bombers in round 10 against Geelong (how fitting), so it's hard to see him making the side until round 11 vs Adelaide, again, how fitting!

Re: 21. Hayden Skipworth

An inspired pick by Knights and has payed off big time. Biggest doubts on him were his kicking, which has improved out of sight, and his pace, he aint our slowest. Continues to get the 15-20 possies a game and kick goals. Deserves to be playing AFL.

What was the point of drafting Skipworth?

I thought a game like this week was set up to perfectly exploit the reason Skipworth was drafted.

THE GAME

Top 8 spot for grabs
Finals contender as opponent
Several experienced players injured

SKIPWORTH

Experienced
Mature body
Played reasonably consistently
Has made the bests a few times this year

How does he not get the spot Quinn was selected for? Don't know.

Where does he fit in as far as in terms of depth? Seems fairly low based on this weeks selection.

Why was he drafted in the first place?

Re: What was the point of drafting Skipworth?

He was VERY poor last week against WCE. Hardly a consistent player at AFL level. Quinn is playing in a different position.

I'm not a big fan of Skipworth personally but Quinn!! FFS whats happening down there. Surely we have players capable of kicking a ball and taking a mark in two's (i.e, Jetta, Myers, Nash)

To babysit Pears.

On Quinn's selection, I actually agree with it. Lately we've been too static and going back and kicking it over the mark. Quinn isnt afraid to keep running and get the handball receive and hopefully spark up our running game again.

Re: What was the point of drafting Skipworth?

What was the point of starting this thread?

Watch the first half of the season and you will see. Before injuring his hamsting he was playing better footbal than a lot of our young 'stars'.

Re: 21. Hayden Skipworth

I don't see the point to him being in the team, he's too short and has nothing skillwise to make up for it. I want him delisted but I'm afraid that Knights might be too attatched to him for his efforts in Bendigo.

Well make him an assistant coach maybe he might have a bit to offer in that role?
