ha ha sorry. i am trying to get excited but im holding off until i hear Jakey come out and say hes gonna be a Hawk!!

Unlike what seems to be most posters here, I'd prefer he went to the Saints, as long as we get value for the trade.

Without Carlisle, the Hawks backline looks distinctly vulnerable.

Don't need to over egg the pudding. They already look like idiots, we come off as reasonable by giving up pick 25, which is only a 35% chance of working out anyway.

Just get the deal done while we've got momentum because, as we've seen today, things can change very quickly.

15,18,25 is better than 5.

You guys should erect an statue of Adrian Dodoro if he pulls this off.

Apparently you are trading your picks in the 20's for Pick 8.

How does this new academy bidding system work? Does GWS' consider first round pick tradeable because the first pick they have has to be used on Hopper and they can gain an extra second round pick in the process?

Still think saints is by far the most likely destination for JC, even though today's developments certainly strengthen your position... But please don't embarrass yourself by entertaining the ridiculous notion that Essendon would pick him up in the PSD, it would just result in another lengthy and expensive but ultimately futile court case for you guys.

If he goes PSD he ends up at St Kilda 100%

I'm gonna say this one more time to you dwarf burners, even though after 1000 times I know it won't sink in

They are worried about total points. The total points of your potential 2 x 20 something picks is greater than their Pick 8.

Basically, a club will bid for Hopper with their pick. Say we bid with pick 4. Then, GWS have to "pay" the 2034 points pick 4 is worth, minus a 25% discount for Academy player. So, they pay 1526 points. Pick 8 is worth 1551 points, so they have 25 points in "change", which gives them back pick 72 (between actual 72 and 73).

23 and 25 together are worth 1571, so they get another 20 points.

I don't know that it's enough for them to do the deal..

and if we agree not to use pick 4 what would pick 5 cost them?

20%, and yeah we would need to give them a better incentive imo. Maybe tell them we won't bid on the academy kids just like viney a few years ago?
