Reintegrating with the main group, looking to play in the next couple of weeks
Yeah so Jonesy is progressing really well. He's been out of the boot now for a week or so, or a couple of weeks. he's back running, just getting some load into his legs now and he'll integrate with the group this week and look to train a bit more next week. Depending on how we go over this weekend he'll be looking to push to play in the next couple of weeks.

Sounds like he would be available if we made finals….clearly best 22 but he’ll be 5/6 weeks out by then.

I dunno. It’s tempting but….I dunno.

What's the worst that can happen? He doesn't perform well while getting finals experience. Play him if he's going to be a part of our future; don't play him if he's not ready.

The whole reason I want us to make finals, given we have no chance of winning it, is to give Jones, Cox, Perkins a taste, see how they stand up.
I put it to you that they are already getting a taste. The lesson of being around a club that has a chance to make it but is fighting to not get ahead of itself. Of doing the calculations in your head about playing spots and wondering if you have done enough to be in a finals 22 on merit. Of training your heart out because if the team do make finals you don’t want to be left out.

In fact if the team do ultimately make finals, and they don’t make the team they will burn, they will watch the preparation of the team around them, and work out what they need to to be in the side if we make it next year.

but these are all discussions for if we get through. As I said, even these machinations are good for their development.

FFfff yeah, good call

In all honesty, we probably got lucky with the timing of the frames. I think some part of the ball was still in contact with his foot after it had crossed the line but there’s no way they could definitively prove the on field call was wrong.

I know bumping an old post but there’s no rule that the ball must leave your foot right?

Why do we not have a chance to win it? We have a very healthy list and a top 5 midfield now.
If we win the first final, we could win it all. Ending a finals win drought is a HUGE deal, it could take us anywhere.
