I thought Gerard’s comment about finally “realising what it takes to be a league footballer” was completely disrespectful.Plays tall, plays small. Seems to have dropped the undisciplined stuff also. Great to see him finishing games off, two great last quarters in a row, so has put a stack of work into his fitness. Brilliant start to the year!
The stats would indicate he is already there. Long May it continue. He's the hardest forward in our team to find a match-up for.
Having Larkey, Darling and Zurhaar in the side means teams can't put a tall on him, so Curtis is generally way too strong for whoever his match-up is. If you put a 3rd tall on him, then you risk Larkey, Darling or Zurhaar exploiting a weaker match-up.
On his way to becoming one of (if not, THE) premier hybrid forward in the competition.
I think it’s a bit of a watershed game for him tbh.
He’s probably realised how much of the ball he can win with his added endurance working up and back the ground.
Realise how much extra space he can get with that much movement.
How much more damaging he is with 20+ touches.
Should never just sit in the goal square again.
That’s the bench mark.
That is my hope and expectationWatching a second time I was amazed at how much ground he was covering. Still looked fit and explosive in Q4.
A 50-goal and 100-tackle season is possible.
Was it Souup or Pykie who ranked him in their top 5 from 2021?That is my hope and expectation
Souup was very high on him and was a big fan of freijahWas it Souup or Pykie who ranked him in their top 5 from 2021?
That is some sniper-like long range talent spotting.
He's seriously in the conversation for the best small/med forward in the competition.
He's bound to have some stinkers as the position goes, but he is putting out some genuine Toby Greene shit at the moment.
The toby comparison is interesting as both have has discipline issues as well. Harley reads tempriment os also being challenged atm along with corn frances recently. Pauls game last week was virtually without distractions. He's seriously in the conversation for the best small/med forward in the competition.

I was literally right behind it on level 3 at the time and thought it was clearly a goal.I'll have a look at the replay over the next few days but can those who saw it live on TV or who have seen the replay describe that score that was overturned by "snicko" please?
Did the review look right?
I ask because the people down that end were really surprised at the review overturning the score whereas when the Melbourne player kicked one in Q2 the nearby crowd were instantly unanimous in saying that the score had to be reviewed as it was an obvious poster.
Good luck to them. I think he is an extreme challenge to shut down.I don't know if it's happened much in the past, but opposition coaches will now have to put in a good deal of though about how to nullify PC
I found the replay on Kayo, showing the snicko waveform. I thought it looked a "little odd" when I watched the replay yesterday so I searched out the snicko where the Melbourne player hit the post in Q2. Admittedly, the PC shot was low and went past the padding whereas the Melbourne shot skimmed the post on the metal up high so I wouldn't expect identical waveforms. But look at the duration of the wave on the right where the ball touched the metal post compared to the shape and duration on the left which is one single cycle. I know that if they see anything on snicko then the call is "out" but I'd be dubious - to me it's just as likely that the goal umpire broke wind as he bent over to watch the ball and the audio was picked up by the mic on the other postI was literally right behind it on level 3 at the time and thought it was clearly a goal.
Apart from the deficiencies of the oppo, Curtis is now finding space because he can run. I noticed in the praccy matches he was getting back to D50 to provide an outlet, and thought that was a good signThird quarter he is 20m by himself in the clear on the wing three times in a row. Melbourne did a completely dog shit job of defending him and he just got lost in transition. It won't always be as easy as it was on the weekend but jeez he finds space.
Also yeah I'm watching the replay. He just rips Petty (90+ kg & 197+ cm) to the ground like he's a rag doll in the last quarter. Absurdly strong human being
they were right though. He does fumble a fair bit. If he can clean that up a bit he's going to be one tough unit to play onYes one of the ch 7 blokes was slagging his fumbling which is true hopefully he was just a bit overexcited like the rest of us
Particularly liked his extra effort chasing
That was very Team Shinboner
And I think I saw Larks dump somebody
Good Times
