This kid is amazing, he went from 185 to 183, has anyone ever heard of that?

I picked that up to....a little bit nervous??:D....:p

I went to the pre draft analysis at the club last week. They wanted a big body mid and rated RCD higher than Stocker by the way Matt Clarke presented the players. They loved Hill but didn't feel he was what we needed.

Thank goodness. Some sanity prevails post Beck and Jackson

Was at a function last night so had to do a silent fist pump in the corner.

Really like what this guy could become. Pretty confident he will be a dominant mid once he gets his body sorted. Not really worried about his numbers, he hasn’t been playing for an inside mid for that long and his endurance isn’t great, which is undertstandble given his massive growth spurt.

People have mentioned his pretty huge contested disposal %, once he gets his endurance up he will be able to add that outside link run and carry to his game and he will find more of the ball. In saying that his end to the year was great and he really showed up in finals.

Might take a little while, but developed right he should be a ripper, and from the interviews we have seen from him he seems like a great kid who will do everything to make that happen.

I love how Carlton did everything they could do get Stocker from us...and in the meantime there was another player that was sliding the whole time so it didnt matter! we POUNCED!

Rate this kid highly. Looks explosive and has the right attitude. Needs to put on size and in a few years can really make a name for himself in our team on ball.

i am also of the same opinion. Looks a two to three year project before his body will be ready and he is a low possession player also. Hope I am wrong but just dont think he's a top liner. Both Cripps and Oliver had much better stats than this guy.

Look at RCDs finals series averaged 21 touches and a goal a game. Just kept getting better like Oliver who’s best game was a final. Cripps has some monster games in WA colts (including a 40 possess game) but also a lot of sub 10 touches.

That RCD still has so much room for improvement is scary.

Jeez there's been a couple of poor comments in this thread. And people say the first openly gay footballer won't have a tough time of it when they inevitably come out.

More classy comments then poor imo (unless the mods have been very active. Sure it’ll difficult to be a gay AFL footballer but most people will accept it. You’re never gonna get 100% of people.

Besides Darcy Moore is well know to be gay in AFL circles and doesn’t bother anyone.

swans fan, jpk hero. get this boy a columbian woman and he could be anything

Maybe he wants a Colombian man! ;) eitherway hope he has a career like JPK

Stocker is a good get for you guys, I guess we'll see how things pan out out over the next few years. I think you know what you're getting Stocker, very solid. A bit more risk/reward with RCD as I think others have said....but .I think RCD could become a very good 3rd tall with his burst & height or attacking half back. But as I said very interesting to watch him develop...
Another case of Kruezer V Cotchin....Stocker or RCD...hmmmm will be an interesting watch!

St
You keep saying this, sounds like Stocker senior is a little bit annoyed about where Jnr ended up, no need to say what other club would've taken your son at if you are happy no matter where your son ended up at.
Stocker snr isn’t annoyed because he is an avid Carlton fan. Look at Stocker’s post selection interview. He talks about it. Not sure that Stocker jnr was a Carlton fan tho!

Richmond draftee Riley Collier-Dawkins makes RCD proud
Sam Landsberger, Herald Sun

A beaming Damien Hardwick interrupted the interview.

“Bit nervous?” Hardwick asked No.20 draft pick Riley Collier-Dawkins.

“Oh yeah. The heart rate was fluctuating, up and down,” Collier-Dawkins replied.

“Ours was a bit the same,” Hardwick said with a smile.

“Congratulations, mate, well done. Feel free to come (to training) tomorrow, or come Monday.”

And with that Collier-Dawkins was a Tiger, hands placed on hips of a Richmond jumper and a smile stretching the cheeks of his face.

Metres away stood Collier-Dawkins’ RCD, Chris Dawkins and Jacinta Collier.

“It means a lot to them,” Collier-Dawkins said of his female parents.

“This shows you can come from different backgrounds and upbringings and still achieve whatever you want.

“As long as you apply yourself correctly, you can do anything. It’s been the norm for me. I haven’t experienced anything else. It’s just been routine really.”

The Tigers have secured a 191cm midfielder in Collier-Dawkins — “and I think I’ve got a couple of centimetres left in me” — who was not expected to last to their pick.

Like Western Bulldog superstar Marcus Bontempelli and Carlton co-captain Patrick Cripps, there won’t be many midfielders Collier-Dawkins can’t look in the eye.

He averaged 18 disposals in this year’s TAC Cup and 12 disposals for Vic Metro, but half of his touches were contested possessions and clubs love his big frame.

And so Richmond list chief Blair Hartley took a crew of Tigers to Collier-Dawkins’ Chadstone home on Tuesday for a last-minute interview.

It was the final tick in the box, according to recruiting chief Matthew Clarke.

“He’s a big powerful boy, isn’t he?” Clarke said.

“We had some blokes rated around our pick and Riley was a little bit higher than that, so it was good that he got through.”

Collier-Dawkins left that interview thinking his future probably lay elsewhere.

“It was a real casual conversation. They just gave my parents an overview of what happens if they take me and I presumed in my own mind I’d go a bit earlier,” he said.

The Tigers rated Collier-Dawkins higher than No.20 and were strongly linked to Liam Stocker, who was picked up by Carlton the selection earlier after a bold trade with Adelaide.

I’ve had this nagging thought at the back of my mind that as a tall mid he could either be like Fyfe/Cripps/Bont or.........Jack Watts.

But Watts was a forward who Melbourne tried to turn into a mid right?

Cant believe people think Carlton took that kid just so we couldn’t!
Who knows what will happen with any of them anyway, this time of year always makes me laugh with the player comparisons and celebrating players picked up as bargains or otherwise. Come back in a few years for a read if you want a chuckle.
As for somebody asking about our blokes growth spurt and has it happened before, Nathan Buckley had the same thing seen it with my own eyes, was something ridiculous in a year like 6 inches or something.

This is something i rate highly. Ability to turn up and perform when it matters.

Rekon we've got a good one but the best part of all of this is we don't have to rush him due to the health of our list. If this was in Tambling era he would be rolling out round 1 into a baptism of fire.

As some have said, Stocker seems a more safe pick, but if RCD puts it all together, he has more tools than Stocker
Stocker is the old Richmond pick. He's the right type for a rebuilding team to pick.
