I think in two year's time we'll look back on this moment with a sigh of relief. Neither TMac nor BBB are youngsters. Even if Weid is never a star, I have confidence he'll be good enough to play the role we need played.
Hopefully you're right, definitely has shown glimpses. Needs lots of work, would love to see him work at his set shots, it's hard to watch him when he's kicking for goal.

Players with his combination of size and speed, that average a goal a game and are 24 years old are worth persisting with. We know he can play some really good footy and he makes a contest out of everything that gets near him.

Very difficult type of player to replace, especially when he seems ok with being third in the pecking order for now.

Good for depth if nothing else, generally excels at VFL level & will keep TMac and BBB honest form wise. Don't think he is the answer long term however (happy to be proven wrong) & would like to see us recruit a young key forward or 2 to develop over the next few years.

I hope Weid takes this year as a chance to learn from Brown and Tmac.

Tmac was almost delisted and completely unwanted and got himself fit.
More importantly from Brown, he doesn't do alot and he's particularly crap when the ball hits the deck but he plays is role really well

Browns leading patterns and ability to get seperation are good, no reason Weid couldn't do what these guys do

Idk people say this about Brown but every time the ball has hit the deck this year he's looked weirdly savantish. Like he looks so stupid but I feel like he's always managed to do something with it and I'm left feeling really surprised. Maybe it's just bc his teammates always bail him out of trouble.

He's dobbed some surprising snaps with clean gathers or reading the ball off a contest. But has also had some super clumsy moments where he's arms and legs everywhere.

Nah mate he's rubbish on the ground lol. All good he's huge but he's by far our worst ground ball player.

I'm not saying he isn't, but I don't think he's been as bad this year as people said he'd be. Has definitely had some weirdly clean moments.

Yeah even in his best ground ball moments he looks weird as ****. But he's so big that he somehow clears the area with his wingspan which gives him the inordinate amount of time he needs to get a handball off or whatever.

The product description read like he couldn’t get near it unless it was marked, yeah he is big and slightly off pace not being his forte but I agree he manages to make enough of an impact.

Happy with Weid last night. In his 50 game career, that was the first time he's kick more than 3 goals in a game.

And 7 scoring shots is nothing to sneeze at either, just wish I could trust his set shot kicking a bit more.

Love Tmac but he's getting on, and has a premiership medal so would love to see Weid edge him out of the side if he keeps it up.

Also I'm a sucker for the "Boo-urns" Crowd noises (Yze, Bruest etc.) So that's a part of the reason I'd love to see him kill it lol

Had a great game, took some seriously good grabs, and should've really kicked at least 5. Just need to see more of it really, our long term prospects look so much better if he can really come on this season.

At the game, he's a weird player to watch.

Multiple times on fast breaks and he's deep inside 50 1v1 and just doesn't get to dangerous positions or seem to really want the ball.

His marks tonight were often great kicks that drew him to it, hell, one of his marks he even turned his head away from the ball at the last second and still somehow marked it lol.

Has a beautiful kicking action but doesn't believe he belongs at the top level still - which results in some real bad misses.

Still, kicked 4.3 despite playing on some big average defenders. I'm worried about what Weitering/Andrews/Moore does to him in a marking contest in a big game. Needs a run and jump at it and his body work is still below where it needs to be.

Still have mentally shot Weid over the 2020 version of Tmac we've got at the moment

Weitering, Andrew’s, Moore are on Brown, or Brown smokes guys like (who is collingwoods second back? I couldn’t tell from their lineup?)
