Let's hope we don't mess this up
As long as we get the right people in his ear plus we can get a proper on field and off field set up in place within the next couple of years .
EG : own VFL side plus the youth of our club to get games under there belt like Vicker - Wills Clarke Wagner Durdin Mc Kay no moneyballing please.
Time to put the NMFC 1st and not look after token gestures VFL clubs plus a Chairmen who has a bit of Kennent / McGuire about him or her A bit of a c !nt about them to stick it to the AFL Chanel 7 and others

What does that mean?

Would just about confirm that we will be entitled to him as an academy player.

A TASMANIAN future star described as the equal of – if not better than – Grant Birchall and Jack Riewoldt at the same age could be North Melbourne’s first gem gained from its Tasmanian AFL academy.

At just 16, North Launceston’s Tarryn Thomas was the state’s best player at the under-18 national championships and will today lead Tasmania’s under-16 campaign against the Northern Territory at Gold Coast’s Metricon Stadium.

And because Thomas is an indigenous Tasmanian, North Melbourne would get a 20 per cent discount should a rival club select him first when he becomes eligible at the 2018 draft.

I have it on good authority that he will be moving to a Melbourne inner city based private school as early as next year which could rule him out of the Tasmanian academy zone contention for us. This would be a disaster

Huh?

What about the kids from the Riverina that go to school in Melbourne, then go to GWS?

Nope, he has still lived in Tassie all his life. Wont change anything.

I said 'could rule' him out of contention, not 'will'. I agree with you, i think we should be allowed access to him, just though i'd notify people of the fact he could be moving to melbourne as early as next year mate

Do we have anything to do with it, to get him into a better system and closer to the club?

Hmmm....better system you say........I think I'd take my chances and leave him down in Tassie until he's ready to be drafted.....:oops:

It will good to get someone into our team that has grand final experience.

Can't we just draft him next year?

He will bring balance to the force.
