He was great and yes was good from the goalsquare but seriously people, it's not a conspiracy. He is simply not tall enough or agile enough to be a full time lock down goalsquare FF. It will not work against every team all the time. I really rate Aaron when he's up and about but pinning career hopes on him being a starting FF is not a great move IMO.

i agree in that he isn't the starting full forward but he has an important role in our side

our forward structure should be petrie and azza playing deep forward. thomas, wright crumbing, hansen chf and boomer or adams on the hff

edwards petrie thomas
wright hansen boomer/adams

If Petrie and Hansen take the best 2 defenders each week, then yes, Edwards is a full time lock down full forward.

He's the most natural FF on our list.

AHAHAHAAHHAHAHA :D:thumbsu:

Anyway here they are

Top work again GR. To be honest I started compiling a vid from Daniel Wells game but found myself down the road purchasing a ring and flowers for him about 4 mins into the exercise. Did I mention I love Daniel Wells. :thumbsu:

Yep. Great game by Azza. Dont necessarily agree he was unlucky to be dropped - he has had ample opportunity to prove himself over the years. The time has come for Azza to put 3-4 good games together in a row.

Yes, because everyone else in the side is 'up' every week.

(Think you'll find he played some pretty consistent footy last year, too, but let's not get sidetracked with pesky matters like reality.)

Serial Azza haters are a boring-ass lot. Only one step up the food chain from Hansenists, IMO.

M'eh. As you said DF, great game. Well done Azza. :thumbsu:

Spot on.

If he can only perform out of the goal sqaure then he will fade out. Needs to push high and push back.

And seriously, the Azza revision is crazy. he has been average for a couple of years. Not horrible, but average, which is why he gets dropped every few weeks. He has aplyed like a fringe player in a bottom 8 team. Needs to have another consistent level above what he has been playing to be an automatic first 22 selection.

But I digress, he was awesome today. I sense a turning point. Doesn't need to kick 6 every week, but needs to be dangerous all across the forward 50 (and above)

He was awesome. 6 goals is a great outcome and the defensive pressure has become a real strength of his game.

Unlucky to be dropped in the first place. I think he'll have a really good year.

Great example of giving a bloke a run in the two's to get some touch.

Will be interesting to see if he can maintain it against the better sides as the delivery was pretty clean today.

I'm hoping he does as he is a joy to watch when on song.

When he was up and going in the 2nd quarter I thought 'we'll see mark of the year here today' - however I didn't expect that to be delivered by Goldy.

Nice to see Azza transfer great magoo form into the seniors. There was a little bit of sneaky-Sidebottom about a few of his goals today, but i guess if you're fit enough you deserve the reward of sneaking in behind the opposition defence every now & then.

Azza is definitely enjoying having both Hansen & Drew in the forward line, pushing him down to 3rd in the defensive pecking order. Hopefully he can string 4-5 good performances together, well done today.:thumbsu:

Good game Azza but you need consistency.
He needs to perform week in week out

Azza should be played out of the square with a big bodied player next to him and the other KPP to play across half forward.

Time for the smaller players to play across the HFF and give us extra run

It's nice to see the midfielders giving him a few decent chances for a change too. They're as much to blame for the weeks he's been less than productive.

Of course that doesn't suit the anti Azza campaignists, but that's a fact Jack!

:thumbsu: This.

I struggle to understand the pigeonholing due to his size. Size might say no, but the way he plays says yes. He is a deep forward no doubt.

Game yesterday was great.

How good was his goal from a mark 55 out on the flank from a standing start.

IIRC, he never used to be able to kick that far - he used to struggle from 40 out. Fruity has worked wonders with him.
