**** I'm spewing that Azza and Peterson is gone. Good luck to them. But if Petrie, Tarrant or Hansen get injured our triple towers forward line is f****d.

Now they have three players with finals experience on their list
That mark doesn't get the recognition it deserved and all because it occurred in a final.
I recall that September night we were on fire early and Azza was the go to man.
Had kicked the previous 2 goals if im not mistaken and was the focal point.
As we were awarded the free in the middle Haley did the right thing and kicked it long in his direction.
I was seated at the city end in the left pocket right behind him.
As soon as he lead out with Gilham trailing him, and DIsh and Croad wrestling in front of him- it were as if time had slowed down, everything was in black and white and the only color you could see was the blue striped jumper of Azza with the 27 on his back. Perfect position to watch it.
I don't know why but Croads position was spot on as if God had wanted him to be there.
As soon as Azza got within meters of DIsh and Croad you knew what was going to happen.
Everyone in north colors that night did.
It was bliss. The sprint. The leap in the air. The ride up. The mark of the ball. Poetic.
The perfect spekkie.
Will go down as the greatest mark I have seen live. The airtime, the hang and the clean grab. In a final.
Edwards was loved by everyone at the club. That's why it was considered a good will trade, on our behalf anyway. It wasn't a case of we think Richmond needs forwards or we'll give you off cuts because he's not that anyway. But your mob showed interest and it's better than having him end up like Tippett. At least he's being looked after. And with Riewoldt and Vickery and Maric dropping into the forward line, he could do some damageProps to all the North supporters for such positive posts re. Azza leaving, great reading. Found Adelaide supporters very similar with them farewelling Knights & Maric. Port Adelaide supporters re. Chaplin on the other hand......... well, that is another story. Nice work guys
Azza joins the list of blokes who are welcome back at Arden st anytime they want to pop in!
I'm glad he wasn't lost to the scrap heap because I think he's matured a lot, he needs footy for as long as he can, and his last few years might be his best, as he's much more comfortable with where he's at now.
Good luck & thanks for the best live mark I've ever seen (07 semi)
Hopefully there's a few more hangers left in that random bag of tricks!
Mark of the Year in 2007.
Just not recognised as such due to a dumb agreement between the sponsor, broadcaster and some dickhead at AFL HQ who never paused to consider that a classic mark might be taken during the finals.
Not unlike your post. Nice work.It was bliss. The sprint. The leap in the air. The ride up. The mark of the ball. Poetic.
More a sign of the affection with which he's held, not his ability, nor the actual terms of trade, I suspect.Wish him the best but bloody hell the Facebook Brigade has made it sound like we just traded Wayne Carey for a packet of chips.
But we also have Black, Daw ( who some FB poster claims must get 6 games next year as part of his contract) Curran, Kennedy ......these younger players must soon get priority/chance more so than McKinley/Warren now. You'd think we need at least one of Edwards/McKinley/Warren for insurance. Out of the three, Azza is the only proven AFL goal kicker, so it's an easy choice from my point of view. McKinley/Warren to be delisted (or traded for a very low pick to help them get to their club of choice), but Azza to be given a 1 year deal.
