For sure he had a point to prove against his old side. He's not going to do that every week for us.
But he was very good and it's likely Teakle or Maley couldn't get near that level of impact right now.
It's unlikely they push him out of the side anyway if they came into the side at some point.
They don’t need to push him out they need to play in the same side as the third tall

Darling should never be rucking, he helps larkey by being in the forward 50 drawing an opponent

You can already see the chemistry developing between Larkey, Jackie D & Zurhaar. I can see Darling kicking 20 goals this season (excluding finals), but it would be no surprise to see Larkey break the 60 goal barrier and Zurhaar the 35 goal barrier. That's where the value of Jackie D really lies.

That's what I meant. We aren't playing Maley and Teakle in the same side. More likely the play alongside Darling.
I didn't mind him in the ruck, competed pretty well and sometimes that can be used to get a player into a game.

Larkey as good as he was tonight, doesn't kick 5 without JD.
That's exactly what he was bought in for. Great first game!

Loved how pumped he was after his goal too.

Directly involved in at least 5+ of our scores (or potential ones that his mates butchered). Really good game. Above what I was expecting last year, although on same track as pre season. If he can deliver that 3 weeks out of 4 he will help a lot.
