MFC please get him on the main list or at least rookie list! Throws his body at a pack to effect a defensive spoil, happy to go back with the flight to attempt to mark, decent leg speed, accurate kick! I like him a lot from what Ive seen at VFL level!

I really liked the look of some things I saw from Joel at Casey this year.

He is a project, but I can certainly see some AFL level traits.

His run and 'rangy' limbs, combined with his foot skills are the bits I liked.

Not afraid to crack in and will out mark most other mids if he floats forward.

Kind of has the attributes to be a utility, but I can see him as a running winger/flanker.

Honest question - why would we need to move him from a CatB rookie to a normal rookie? Is there any list advantage? Ability to promote him?

I don't believe it makes a difference. He's on the Rookie List as a Cat B Rookie, not on a Cat B Rookie list. He can be elevated the same as any other rookie as far as I know.

Certainly is the time of year players can look bigger than usual.
From looking at this years training photos I think the players are looking leaner than usual. Probably most worked hard over the off season.

The HS article says Lumumba would likely stay on the list for 2017. So could probably be a rookie upgrade before season starts.
