People have said off field issues numerous times, can some one who actually knows what they were, spit it out...

I don't want guess's as that isn't fair to the kid, but if he had a few issues what were they?
Brett anderson ssid he just had to work a bit harder on sen. said nothing serious

Welcome shai hope you work out.

If the club took him because they thought he was best available fair enough. I dont agree and i certainly dont think he met our greatest needs.
Our list is littered with small players while we have gaping holes elsewhere.
Imo a chance lost to address far more urgent needs.

could always use some more black magic in the forward line

He s don't plenty to assure me he can play and little to suggest he can't , so not sure where the not sold comes from other than general panic

- Not fast for a little guy
- very Small
- Not a great defender
- Occasionally craps himself under pressure
- A myriad of other issues.

Short has been very promising. I merely said originally there is a chance he will not make it

You don't agree he was best available or don't agree with drafting best available?

Did you want us to draft a speculative tall? Or more inside midfielders? I feel we added two during the trade period and still had two picks to come when drafting Bolton and probably figured there would still be some decent inside mids later, which we got. If you look at the overall draft and trade period the only thing we are missing is a KPF (and Garthwaite played at CHF with some amazing returns before TAC level). But we have two first round picks next year so we can trade further into the draft to get a top 10 pick if there is a KPF we are really keen on.

In this off season we have added 3 inside midfielders, a developing backman (perfect timing with Rance 27 and Astbury 24-25(?)) a ruckman and a creative outside midfielder/small forward which wasn't essential but is a player that will compliment our 'working class' players very well. The knock is we keep taking vanilla players with no x factor. Next year we can target a KPF and some more midfielders, maybe a project ruckman. But you can't address everything in one off season and I think we have done pretty well this year while setting ourselves up really well next year (for the draft/trade period).

has a sub 3 second 20m sprint
Goes at 80% DE pretty bloody good and had the best KE in his TAC cup year. He makes mistakes but so do experienced players and he is just getting at AFL level.
Not a terrible defender either, he will get better with experience.

I'll give you small but not that small, but there are plenty of 177cm players in the comp.

2o years old, only 72 kgs is very small for a back 6 player.

Not a great defender.

Good that's he's recorded as fast yet doesn't look super quick on the eye.

I like short and lambert yet would be overlooking Bolton based on already having them on the list

No way would I overlook Bolton based on having Short and Lambert on the list. Lambert, I like, but he is a role player at AFL level. Short I also like but he is not in the class of Bolton. Bolton has the traits of the kind of small forward that can tear a game apart. His ability to hit top speed in a nano second and bounce out of traffic looks incredible. Bolton and Rioli will potentially form the type of small forward duo that other clubs have to plan for. We haven't had a duo of forwards that other clubs have really had to worry about since Richo and N Brown and that was short lived. Can't wait to see him light it up at the G.

Who is this your referring to?

Amazing how people are comparing Bolton to players we already have on our list?

Lennon, Lambert and Short you gotta be ****ing kidding me. Only player to compare him to would be Rioli and even then we cant compare him to Rioli because we still dont even know what Rioli will become.

If you are trying to compare to him anyone on the list than maybe Edwards is the player he gets compared to but with lighting pace.

Mate it's a each way Bet by the club, the don't know whether we are rebuilding or having a tilt for a flag, half measures, I feel for this kid already
Said it to workmates and on here.17 clubs are playing for 2nd.Only way to beat the system is to join them.GWAFL have got multiple 1st rnd selections since their arrival. We have done it next year(not sure if that was the intention)But hopefully the penny has dropped. While the afl,s luv child goes on Premiership junket then perhaps we should continue with getting Muli 1st rnds for the next few years.
