I've been hard on Will, but he should get a game after the Geelong shambles. Sure, he doesn't yet have the body to play inside mid and will get rag-dolled, but at least he doesn't run away from physical contact. Lazzaro, Stephens and Fisher can gagf. Their outright cowardice is a disgrace to our club. Whoever brought them to North should be publicly drawn and quartered.

I agree . I’ve been hard on Will too but this has to be the week for him to come in.
Need another midfielder for rotations .

It doesn't really matter, we are absolutely trash and an average hawthorn will probably pump us. His confidence is shot and playing him in the 1s won't help.
Maybe he's been reading your weekly posts ****canning him?

Who does he kick out of the midfield? Or does he play forward?

I don't think it's necessarily "who he kicks as a mid", more of a "who he kicks from a flank and we lose **** all" type scenario.

He hasn't banged the door down by any means but like others I think he can play the in and under role that allows the other mids to play to their strengths. I'd bring him in
F mate. 21 disposals, team high 13 tackles and team high 4 clearances with a ruckman who got belted all day, is pretty good

Exactly. Are we all here confident Will can replace Stephens 13 predominantly uncontested possessions. I think we all would answer yes to that. Scott can move to the wing to replace the outside run.

Without getting into a x vs y argument, you could handball Stephens, Tucker, Stephenson or Fisher and not lose much. Ford can link, Scott to the wing, Powell stays mid as preferred, Jy maintains a Hf/Mid rotation as preferred. You won't lose a lot offensively, but you might maximse our clearance strengths and add to a better defensive positioning around the stoppage. Phillips helps a limited tap Ruckman and releases Luke and Wardlaw to play their natural attacking game. It's a shame Kerch has gone down because this set up would be my changes immediately.

I thought Kerch was playing by all reports

Had a good little chat with Will Phillips as well, and he said he's keen as mustard to get back into the 1s and help the team. Says he feels fitter than he's ever felt, and highlighted his defensive side of the ball as something he's really proud of in terms of what he's been focused on.
Pinching this bit from Chadwiko.

It looks like WilPhil has been focusing on the defensive side of his game in the 2's, which is ideal because that's where we are severely lacking at the moment.

I know everyone wants him to get 30+ touches in the vfl, but he's obviously adjusting his game on the direction of clarko. 13 tackles against one of the best midfields in the VFL is extremely encouraging.

I think he comes in this week, would love to see our midfield mix with a bit more attack/defence balance, and he could be the answer.

4 kicks 17 handballs at VFL level is not banging the door down.
I don’t mind if he plays but I also expect someone who fancies himself as an elite AFL midfielder (or aspires to be) to dominate VFL games at this stage of his career. Glandular fever can’t be used as an excuse at this point
