He had waited six months to get back into Test cricket so our premier seamer Josh Hazlewood was not going to miss making his imprint in this Ashes which he did by being the giant killer and plucking victory from the jaws of defeat.

The thing that finally swayed me with the Bairstow wicket was he never looked back. If he had done so he would have clearly seen the ball was still live and in play.

Sure as s**t if he was looking backwards and seen Carey keep and instantly throw the ball at the stumps he would have grounded his bat uncontroversially, end of the over or otherwise.

It doesn't sit 100 percent with me, and I wouldn't like getting out in the same circumstances myself, but I'm comfortable with it (just).
Yeh there was zero indication it was a dead ball because Carey was continuing the play. Rewarding bairstow for not looking and being god of when it’s a dead ball would be dumb as

Not quite sure this one met the test

Is that a guilty or salty look he's giving?

He handles this presser (and every presser) so incredibly well. I have nothing but complete admiration for Cummins.

Don't just scroll past this one folks, really fantastic interview. He speaks really well and represents his team and country in a very mature way. Worth finding time to watch it

Best of all is how he handled some of the more cynical, needling questions from the pommy tabloids - straight bat, honest simple answers.

geez it was frustrating watching us bowl short to stokes and broad for ages and seeing stokes smash them but credit to Cummins, he kept his nerve and got the big wicket of stokes doing what they were seeking and then finished them off quickly. Bit like day 1 of the first test, frustrating fields/tactics but 2-0 so its working
I found it just as frustrating watching us bowl to their last 2 batters, Starc pitches one up and bowls him 30 runs later.

That shootout in the last hour had similarities to Johnny Rambo taking on the cops in First Blood. Stokes held the upper hand for some time before the pressure enforced by the Aussie bowlers told and he was swamped and finally put out of action.

The round the wicket tactic to limit Stokes room to play in his on side hitting zone, worked, a no brainer as it dried up his boundaries then frustrated him, which then led to his downfall and won us a Test match. So am asking the question, why was the tactic not used sooner before he gave us all the nervous nellies.

Again a weird ball to compare it to. The controversy is around the fact that Bairstow left his ground because he assumed the ball was dead. Whether you agree with it or not what relevance is a clip of Bairstow trying to stump someone who has left his ground to try and play a shot?
You must work as groundstaff at the GABBA but you're very efficient at changing goalposts...

All this talking about the spirit of the game BS. Wouldn't this also mean accepting you're out when your given out?

Not sooking it up like a bunch of 2-year-olds, England this whole series have done nothing but talk, maybe they need to actually concentrate on winning.

What happened to this spirit of the game when you hit the ball and see a fielder has clearly caught the ball so you walk if it isn't a no-ball?
