Hawks have been favourite or near favourite for the flag for almost 12 months now, so the bookies are probably a little exposed to the Hawks.
Offering juicy odds for port to alleviate the exposure perhaps?

One thing a bookie hates is for the favourite to get up.

Therefore by that philosophy it means that Jonas is better than Ablett? Don't think so mate. But regardless, Mitchell and all the players i listed above are much more important and valuable than the ones i compared them with.

Ok, what i mean is that jonas would be more effective in defence than mitchell...he is a better defender than mitchell. Yes mitchell is a better player but seeing as they each bring different things to either side, its silly to compare them.

Jeez harsh on Sewell I would of thought, but Suckling is an extremely good player so of course when he is fit he can be damaging. So it seems the game may be won or lost on the outside and which side can run out the game stronger. My tip is Hawthorn by a couple of goals, but heres hoping that the contest is hard, tough and may the best team on the day win.

I thought you had to play a minimum number of VFL games to be allowed to play VFL finals?

That's only if your AFL team and VFL team are not playing on the same weekend then he wouldn't be allowed to play, but because Hawthorn and Box Hill both play on the same week he's allowed to play in the VFL.

Suckling is far more suited to this game because Port are an attacking side with great runners all over the ground and you need to have a player like Suckling who can pin point targets coming off half back, which in this case he is more ideal to our team structure then having someone like Sewell in the side who would be exposed for pace against Port's quick midfielders.

If we were playing against a side like Sydney instead of Port Adelaide then Sewell would've stayed in the team.

Normally you have to play at least 1 game to play VFL finals but because he hasn't played any games since July 1 he automatically qualifies
